CommScope is hiring a Distribution Planning Manager in Richardson TX.


General Summary:

Manage and lead Distribution Planning activities for the assigned for all product lines and all Distribution Centres within your assigned region.  Partner with Global Operations, Demand Planning, Customer Service and Sales to align and achieve objectives for the business units. Provide senior leadership in the development and management of demand and supply planning activities within the region. Primary goal will be balancing the competing objectives to maximize cost with customer service, minimize supply chain costs, and optimize working capital.  Lead a team of Distribution Planners, including recruiting, selecting, and developing team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development, execution, and continuous improvement of distribution planning strategy.  Develop, implement, and oversee the policies and procedures, for Distribution Planning, Supply Planning and Demand Planning to align with Global Operations and Business Unit leadership.
  • Develop reporting and communication path for scheduled backlog and invoicing by working in close collaboration with the logistics teams in the plants.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to improve service, minimize supply chain costs, and optimize working capital with reference to inventory strategy.
  • Lead strategic initiatives for all planning activities for all product lines in the assigned region, working closely with Demand Planning and execution planners in the manufacturing locations.
  • Direct the control processes including measurement of key performance indicators and recommended actions over the supply chain. These include metrics for customer service, supply chain and inventory.
  • Develop manage and support ongoing and new planning and inventory technology initiatives.
  • Develop and execute talent development plans that include regular performance reviews, leadership identification, and development within the team.
  • Managerial/Supervisory Responsibility: Recruit, select, manage and develop employees, if applicable. Make decisions regarding hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, discipline, and any other changes of employee status.


Required Qualifications

  • Ability to lead a high performance team and coach individuals to improve personal performance
  • Demonstrated leadership with ability to effectively interact and influence personnel of various levels and disciplines
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with measurable results
  • Ability to effectively present ideas to an individual or group utilizing appropriate delivery styles and methods of communication to gain agreement or acceptance
  • Ability to analyze information and provide fact-based recommendations
  • Expertise in global supply chain
  • Ability to travel globally
  • Strong PC skills required (MS Office)
  • Significant experience with ERP and reporting tools required, SAP preferred
  • Relevant senior demand planning experience
  • Expertise in inventory management
  • Experience managing contract manufacturers
  • Meet with customers as needed


Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years experience in supply chain business processes preferred
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred
  • APICS certification preferred (CPIM, CSCP, or CIRM)
