Title:  Engineer, Field Application

General Summary

 

Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Quality Control and Engineering for all products within the CCS Enterprise Group, Supporting pre and post sales Technical efforts.  Field technical support will include but not be limited to traveling to sites to support customers, distributors and partner in Mexico

 

Knowledgeable in the application and design of Structured Cabling Systems to include design, performance criteria, troubleshooting skills and installation applications.

The FAE (FIELD APPLICATION ENGINEER) must be knowledge, able to evaluate a situation, make sound decisions quickly, and be able to work in a pressured environment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Provide technical pre- and/or post sales support to the sales teams, business partners, and end-users.
  • Responsible for ensuring that account managers (AMs), business partners, consultants, and end-users are updated with the latest technical information, with special emphasis on key company solution differentiators.
  • Provide technical support that facilitates the marketing and sales of CommScope Enterprise Products so that corporate goals for quality, growth, market share, and profitability are met.
  • Supports sales and Partners efforts concerning the installation, integration, and general use of CommScope Systems products.
  • Responsible for providing support for new business opportunities in terms of responding to RFIs and RFPs, understanding customer network requirements, infrastructure architecture and design.
  • Presales activities such as: scoping, delivering and architecting presentations, delivering technical solutions according to customer requirements in infrastructure areas like copper and optical communication, Data centers, LAN.
  • First Level of support for business partners, responsible for facilitating Partner technical support .
  • Perform warranty certification inspections and analysis to ensure that CommScope guidelines have been followed during the installation. Provide technical support to resolve warranty claims.
  • Contribute product literature maintenance by identifying inconsistencies and errors. Support sales and marketing with any media activities.  This may include writing articles for publications, assisting with advertising or preparing technical documentation such as design guides

Deliver post-sales first level of support and solutions to the CommScope customer base resolving post-sales technical customer inquiries.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

Include demonstrated competencies and skills.

 

  • Related telecommunications experience including Infrastructure cabling knowledge. 
  • Bachelor’s in Telecommunications-Electrical Engineering or related with 2 Years of related experience.
  • 50% English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop and deliver professional training presentations required.
  • Good understanding of LAN communication systems and physical media requirements
  • Must be able to motivate and encourage others.

Travel required (20%)
