Position Title: Analyst, Business Services – Engineering


General Summary:

Engineering Analyst who can mentor global team, conduct analysis, evaluation, modification, configuration and testing of complex processes of PLM (Product LifeCycle Management) systems. Ability to lead end-to-end implementation of PDM (Product Data Management), DMS (Document Management System), and ECM (Engineering Change Management) processes.  Understand the client's existing business processes.  Translate knowledge of business process into innovative IT solutions that align with overall IT strategies as well as meet the needs of the business.  Define configuration and customization requirements based on Engineering business requirements.  Ability to lead small IT projects and related team members using project management skills.  This position will focus on support, improvement, innovative solutions to our business partners and troubleshooting of functional applications used by the specialized functional area creating acceptable user experiences.

.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support production business processes within expert field to meet business process requirements.
  • Configure solutions for identified gaps in functionality and business process.
  • Participate in design reviews and business model matching sessions. 
  • Gather and understand business requirements for support and work with the rest of IT to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Specify complex integrations between ERP and third party systems.
  • Introduce new applications to the IT environment by gathering requirements, vendor evaluations, strategic systems planning, processes re-engineering, design, and development, and documentation, defining production support model of major implementations or new functionality.
  • Leverage business knowledge and expertise to deliver business process improvements.
  • Provide analysis and requirements to the development area as it pertains to customization while following standard practices.
  • Assist with engaging users for user acceptance testing and approval of configuration and development with the business partners for signoff.
  • Assist with development of user acceptance test scenarios, test scripts and results to validate configuration with the business.
  • Provide innovative solutions by staying abreast of current technology.
  • Follow established policies and procedures for system security and production operations.
  • Collaborate with other IT and functional area personnel on routine and major system upgrades activity.

    Related Education & Experience:

  • Preferably with Bachelor’s in related curriculum such as Information Systems (IT) or Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ CS) with 3-5 Years of Related Experience. Other bachelor’s degrees considered.
    Master’s in related curriculum such as Information Systems (IT) or Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ CS) with 2-3 Years of Related Experience
  •  Preferably 3+ years of strong and broad business experience in their principal functional area of expertise.
  • Preferably 3+ years of Engineering-related PLM/ERP transactional and/or configuration support.
  • System experience: SAP-PLM preferred; Siemens TeamCenter, PTC PDM_Link or WindChill, and MatrixOne Agile solutions acceptable.
  • Engineering software experience (as user or integrator): mCAD preferred (PTC Creo/ProE, Dassault SolidWorks/CATIA) or AutoCAD, NX; eCAD preferred (PADS Mentor Graphics); CAM/CAE acceptable (CNC, mold flow, FEA).


    Skills Required:

  • Ability to transform and automate business needs and requirements into system solutions.
  • Works with business units in analyzing, identifying business processes and recommends new ideas and/or efficiency opportunities.
  • Experience supporting PLM, DMS, and ECM production issues.
  • Knowledge of PLM/ERP systems integration: Material Master, Bill of Material, Change Management (ECM), and Document Management (DMS).
  • Assists with upgrades and assessments of PLM and CAD tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with client-server architectures.
  • CAD integration knowledge.
  • Experience in working on Change Requests (CR) and helpdesk ticket resolution.
  • Proficiency writing requirements with the technical team, and user acceptance testing.
  • Capacity to work with multiple internal and external customer requirements from all business groups at all levels of the organization and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Communication skills (English written and verbal) required; foreign language(s) helpful.
