Title:  Cost Accounting Analyst II

General Summary



Assist North Carolina cost accounting team with the monthly financial book close process, preparation of financial results for site management and other internal users of financial data. Assist with daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting responsibilities and other matters as assigned.



Duties & Responsibilities


  • Partner with Cost Accounting team to complete month-end close, including reconciliations, analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance GAAP and SOX and assist in external and internal audits
  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies and internal controls at the plant and auditing their effectiveness.
  • Partner with local management team and assist them in making financially sound business decisions which allow for profit maximization or cost minimization.
  • Assist in the management of projects related to budgeting, audit, capital requests, and plant initiatives.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives as identified.
  • Partner with operations team to organize and lead quarterly physical inventories
  • Assists with development of annual budget and annual cost roll.
  • Helps maintain the integrity of inventory and product cost data in the ERP system (SAP).
  • Actively participate in Lean activities with cross-functional project teams to identify and implement cost savings opportunities.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Accounting or Business degree, Bachelor’s degree or higher, is required
  • 3-5 years relevant experience required
  • CMA preferred, CPA or MBA a plus
  • Cost Accounting exposure a plus
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Experience with Business Objects (BO) software a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong Excel skills are required
  • Excellent organizational skills required
