RUCKUS Networks a CommScope Bu is looking for a talented Wi-Fi Design Engineer to design, model, and optimize high-performance wireless networks to join our Professional Services Team. You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle—from pre-sales consultation to post-sales support—ensuring reliable and scalable solutions. Working closely with internal teams and clients, you'll help shape designs, drive system improvements, and solve complex connectivity challenges. Responsibilities:
- Build 3D stadium/arena models in iBwave
- Execution of project activities including Site Survey, EM survey, RF Audit, Wi-Fi RF design, Mesh Design, Link Budgets, Propagation testing, supporting site acquisition efforts and generating all related reports, bills of material, etc.
- Performance of ATP, commissioning, special customer training, installation supervision, and technical reporting related to these activities when needed.
- Prepares pre-sale and post-sale technical documents related to design concepts and approaches taken.
- Responsible for RF Design of the networks via RF Planning tools, performing the link budget, Propagation Model tuning for coverage analysis, and optimization.
- Must be proficient with drawing tools, such as Visio, AutoCAD and common graphic tools
- Support trial testing, including site selection, develop procedures, technical assistance, final data collection, and create test reports.
- Performs testing on 3rd party products for system solutions.
- Create new product definitions for iBwave and other tools.
- Maintains and updates in-house tools as needed with evolution of new technical standards.
- Performs vendor research, selection and testing of complementary products and accessories and special integration products.
- Must be able to discuss designs with customer, create presentation materials, and write any needed technical papers in support of design and test methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent along with 8-10 years of experience and strong RF network architecture skills, propagation simulation, and performance simulation. Direct experience with lab and field test equipment including spectrum analyzers, Wi-Fi survey tools, and Wi-Fi/Ethernet sniffers/analyzers.
- Experience with creating sophisticated 3D models in iBwave
- Able to demonstrate proficiency with Ekahau Pro and iBwave Design, Propagation and Optimization. Having a level 3 certification is a plus.
- Well experienced with Wi-Fi and preferable other types of RLAN equipment.
- Must have solid practical experience in designing, optimizing and troubleshooting wireless broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
- May requires travel upto 25%
- Preparing reports and technical documents suitable for publication.
- Delivering effective and engaging presentations.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position's expected total compensation (base salary and commission range) is $135,600.00- 176,200.00
The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
