About the Role
The Hyperscale Infrastructure team is growing and seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical expertise and support for internal teams and external customers. As an integral member of the sales organization, you will represent our solutions, deliver technical assistance, and enable sellers and partners.
How You’ll Help Us Connect the World
In this role, you will provide pre-sales and post-sales support, including product information, installation guidance, and quality troubleshooting. Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to deliver technical support throughout the sales cycle, including customer visits when specialized expertise is required.
- Develop and update fiber training presentations for end-users and consultants to drive adoption of CommScope’s Data Center solutions.
- Share technical insights and contribute new materials to the broader technical community.
- Serve as a liaison between Hyperscale customers and engineering/manufacturing teams, ensuring timely communication and resolution of technical requests.
- Collaborate with engineering and product management on new product design and development, focusing on application support.
- Create on-site warranty certification documentation to verify compliance with CommScope installation guidelines.
- Provide training for installation partners and end-users.
- Support product literature maintenance by identifying inconsistencies and errors.
- Assist sales and marketing with technical content creation, including articles, advertising materials, and design guides.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience (10 years preferred) in structured cabling design and installation for mid-to-large Data Centers.
- Strong knowledge of Data Center functional areas (MDA, HDA, EDA, ZDA, EF) and industry trends.
- Ability to travel up to 30%, including internationally.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as BICSI RCDD, BICSI DCDC, or other Data Center design credentials.
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards (ANSI/TIA 568, ISO 11801, ANSI/TIA-942-A).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Science.
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN systems and physical media requirements, including wireless applications.
