Job Summary
We’re hiring a Sr. Manager of Integrated Marketing & Community Activation to lead bold, differentiated, data-driven initiatives—including social media programs, community engagement strategies, and event-driven activations—that grow visibility, deepen engagement, and drive pipeline.
This role goes beyond posting—it’s about shaping conversations, sparking attention, and embedding RUCKUS into the culture of our industry.
The ideal candidate will elevate and/or establish our presence across LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord, X/Twitter, and technical forums, as well as Tier 1 & 2 events. They will build and launch organic and paid campaigns that deliver real business outcomes and make RUCKUS look 10x bigger.
Success in this role requires close collaboration with global marketing, sales, creative, PR and comms teams to activate the brand before, during, and after key moments. It also involves identifying cultural and industry trends, creating content that demands attention, and deploying grassroots activations that generate buzz—online and offline.
All content and activations must align with RUCKUS brand guidelines to ensure a consistent voice, look, and feel across platforms and touchpoints.
This role blends strategy, creativity, and analytics. It involves transforming long-form, technical assets into short-form content, amplifying strategic partnerships, and engaging directly in niche communities. It also supports onboarding programs, internal influencer efforts, and partner enablement.
The goal: drive measurable growth in engagement, brand mentions, community participation, and marketing-influenced pipeline. This person will be the voice of RUCKUS in the wild—turning scrolls into clicks, conversations into conversions, and moments into momentum.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content
- Own end-to-end strategy through execution of social media campaigns across LinkedIn, Reddit, X/Twitter, YouTube, and relevant technical forums.
- Create and launch organic and paid social media campaigns that drive awareness and engagement.
- Ensure RUCKUS shows up in key conversations—even when we’re not physically present.
- Turn product stories into short, shareable content that sparks dialogue.
- Align with global regional marketers to support key events and cause-based initiatives.
- Use cultural and industry moments to drive measurable impact.
- Ensure all assets developed align with brand guidelines for consistent voice and tone.
Event Activations & Strategic Partnerships
- Partner with local businesses near major Tier 1 and Tier 2 industry events (e.g., MWC, HITEC, EDUCAUSE) to boost brand visibility through co-branded experiences, shared promotions, and temporary equipment support—especially when RUCKUS is an official participant.
- Develop scalable brand activations at high-profile sports events (e.g., F1, Super Bowl, US Open) by collaborating with nearby businesses to generate attention and awareness—particularly where RUCKUS is not a sponsor but present with minimal budget.
- Identify high-traffic areas for strategic placement of branded assets and activations that maximize exposure while minimizing spend.
- Capture and share compelling content from activations to amplify reach and encourage user-generated content for extended visibility.
- Ensure all activations and content strictly adhere to RUCKUS brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent visual identity and tone across all touchpoints.
Community Engagement & Internal Programs
- Build social media marketing campaigns that generate excitement, FOMO, and shareable moments—turning community engagement into brand amplification.
- Embed yourself in prioritized platforms—Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, X, and niche technical forums—by posting regularly and contributing meaningfully.
- Engage authentically with customers and prospects to answer questions, share insights, and build credibility. Focus on thought leadership, not selling.
- Monitor emerging platforms, cultural trends, and triggers to inform grassroots social media campaigns.
- Collaborate with Regional Marketing to build momentum around Tier 1 and Tier 2 events—before, during, and after—through real-time content and strategic engagement.
- Ensure all community interactions reflect RUCKUS brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent tone, look, and feel.
- Develop and lead the “Barking Lot” employee engagement strategy and support internal initiatives like RUCK-U to help teams understand how to activate the brand effectively across social and community channels.
Content Deployment
- Manage daily posting and engagement across prioritized platforms including Reddit, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and technical forums.
- Repurpose technical content into short, story-driven formats (e.g., videos, GIFs, listicles) optimized for social traction.
- Tailor content for distinct audiences—sales, channel partners, and end customers—ensuring relevance and utility.
- Collaborate with Product and Sales Enablement to align messaging and share assets that support pipeline and customer success.
- Create, maintain, and optimize a centralized podcast series that builds community, showcases authentic voices, and sparks meaningful conversations across the industry.
- Work with Channel Marketing to develop creative, low-cost activations using MDF funds.
- Ensure all content and social media campaigns follow RUCKUS brand guidelines for tone, voice, and visual identity.
KPIs & Performance Metrics
Social Media Growth & Engagement
- Establish, track and report monthly KPIs to assess audience growth, engagement quality, and demand generation across key platforms and events.
- Engagement Rate: Achieve a minimum 20% quarterly increase across LinkedIn, Reddit, and X/Twitter.
- Follower Growth: Grow followers by 10% quarterly on LinkedIn, YouTube, and Reddit.
- Brand Mentions & Share of Voice: Increase organic brand mentions by 15% quarterly (via social listening tools).
- Earned Media ROI: Deliver a minimum 5:1 return on grassroots activations, measured through engagement, reach, and media value.
- Marketing Influenced Pipeline: Attribute at least 10% to social and community activations.
- Event Amplification: Increase post-event social reach by 30-40% compared to pre-event baseline.
- Community Participation: Grow engagement in targeted Reddit threads and niche forums by 30% YoY.
Content Creation & Measurement
- Use social listening, sentiment analysis, and analytics tools to monitor performance and optimize marketing and community engagement.
- Run A/B tests on headlines, hashtags, formats, and visuals to improve engagement and conversion.
- Maintain a consistent cadence of at least 3 posts per week across prioritized platforms, with active comment and message engagement.
- Repurpose a minimum of 5 long-form assets per quarter into short-form content tailored for social, community, and event use.
Community & Event Activation
- Host 2 live virtual events per quarter, ideally featuring a customer and a RUCKUS SME to drive credibility and reach.
- Engage in at least 2 technical forums weekly in collaboration with the SE org, contributing value-driven insights.
- Support Tier 1 and Tier 2 events with full social coverage and at least one creative, grassroots activation per event.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in social media marketing, brand activation, or community engagement—preferably in B2B tech, networking, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven ability to design and execute campaigns that drive measurable engagement, earned media, and pipeline impact.
- Strong understanding of grassroots and experiential marketing tactics, with a track record of low-cost, high-impact activations.
- Deep familiarity with Reddit, Discord, and technical forums, including community norms and engagement strategies.
- Technical fluency in networking or enterprise software concepts, enabling credible and meaningful engagement in technical conversations across social and community platforms.
- Skilled in storytelling—able to translate complex technical ideas into compelling, platform-native content that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in social media analytics and listening tools (e.g., Sprout, Brandwatch, Meltwater) to track performance and optimize content.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt tone across platforms—from professional to witty to technical.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Field Marketing, and Channel teams.
- Bonus: Experience in high-growth or challenger brand environments where agility and creativity are key.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance.
