The Role:


We are currently recruiting an experienced System Engineering Manager to join our team to promote our Ruckus Networks Product PortfolioThe System Engineering Manager position provides technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers in support of sales and development efforts of the Ruckus Network Product portfolio.  In this role, the Systems Engineering Manager is responsible to be an effective business partner with their regions manager counterpart as well as the leadership teams.  The SEM is responsible for developing a high performing team of SE’s demonstrating technical and business excellence.  The SEM coaches and is viewed as a mentor for SE’s on best practices to drive operational success. 




  • Provides leadership and guidance to Systems Engineering team in support of sales and business development efforts.
  • Aligns System Engineering resources with sales revenue objectives to meet or exceed team quota goals
  • Leads SE team with technical sales plans for top revenue opportunities and strategic customers
  • Identifies and recruits qualified candidates for hire into System Engineering roles
  • Provides hands-on guidance on daily work assignments and participates directly alongside team members establishing coaching and mentoring relationships through direct action
  • Considered a knowledgeable and trusted advisor within the organization 
  • Able to clearly communicate the Ruckus strategic vision
  • Manage and prioritize the efforts of technical resources by qualifying opportunities and ensuring coverage of the business
  • Ensure the SE team is aligned with the goals and priorities of the sales organization
  • Escalate all critical customer issues and actively participate as the customer advocate in TAC escalation and critical account review processes
  • Escalate all sales opportunity special needs or requirements to insure support resources deliver on requests to win new opportunities and retain/grow existing installed base accounts.
  • Drive technical excellence and enablement into the channel to foster and accelerate channel loyalty
  • Performance reviews and goal setting
  • Able to create development and career path planning for direct reports
  • General knowledge of SE technical skills; specifically, 802.11 a/g/n/ac/ax, 3GPP & LTE (a plus) wireless design and assessment, wireless troubleshooting, wireless network optimization, IP routing and switching WAN/LAN design, configuration, troubleshooting, Layer 4-7 application services, security authentication methods and products, RADIUS, AD, Virtualization environments/deployments, VM installations, (any of VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, GCE, Azure, AWS), etc.
  • General knowledge of the following areas of specialization: VLAN; Security; VoIP; QoS wired/wireless; BYOD/MDM; PtP; Mesh; Wireless Controller Architectures; Wi-Fi protocols and transmission, RF engineering, Indoor and Outdoor wireless deployments; Packet Capture/Analysis Tools; WLAN Security in the areas of Authentication, Encryption, RADIUS/AAA, EAP/PSK, and Active Directory; RF polarization and Antenna signal propagation behavior.
  • Knowledgeable of local building, electrical and data-communication codes and regulations (e.g. NEC, CSA, IBC)
  • Knowledgeable of local structured cabling standards (e.g. ANSI/TIA 568C, ISO 11801, ANSI/TIA-942-A)
  • Working knowledge of Data Center functional areas (MDA, HDA, EDA, ZDA, EF) and familiar with data center industry trends
  • Subject matter expert in many Cabling Solution and product ranges across assigned CommScope Concentration(s)


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Minimum 3 years of relevant technical experience
  • Master’s degree (optional); Minimum 2 years relevant technical experience
  • Pre-sales and industry knowledge required
  • Previous people management experience preferred
  • Preferably holds and maintains an industry professional certification in at least one wired or wireless technology area.
