The Global Transportation Manager is a key leadership role within the ANS Global Distribution & Transportation organization, reporting directly to the Director of Global Distribution & Transportation. This role is responsible for managing all modes of international and domestic transportation, ensuring alignment with ANS’s strategic objectives for cost efficiency, service excellence, and operational quality. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in global logistics, strategic sourcing, freight audit and payment, and vendor performance management, while driving continuous improvement across the transportation network.
This position also plays a critical role in supporting the transportation requirements of the Tijuana MX factory and must be capable of managing urgent and expedited shipments to meet dynamic business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Transportation Operations:
- Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes; manage bid execution, pricing negotiations, and service-level agreements across all transportation modes.
- Translate business priorities and supply chain requirements into actionable sourcing strategies that support global growth and operational agility.
- Act as the primary liaison for all transportation spend categories, including international freight forwarding, air and ocean freight, and small parcel services.
- Monitor global transportation market trends and regulatory changes; serve as a subject matter expert to inform strategic decisions and risk mitigation efforts.
- Support the transportation and logistics requirements of the Tijuana, MX factory, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business-critical milestones.
- Manage urgent and expedited shipments to minimize operational disruptions and meet time-sensitive customer or production needs.
Operations:
- Ensure all transportation partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
- Serve as a go-to partner for all Global Freight Payment and Audit processes.
- Understand current and future trends and act as a subject matter authority related to Freight Audit and Payment.
- Complete weekly global logistics reports for Executive Management as required.
- Manage execution of freight payments in US Bank’s system and report payment details to leadership.
- Collaborate with Finance/Accounting to provide month-end accruals for freight expenses.
- Prepare and analyze transportation and logistics reports to identify trends and opportunities.
- Oversee the global freight claims process and ensure timely resolution.
Freight Claims:
- Investigate causes of damages, shortages, and overcharges for freight, and provide timely resolutions.
- Collect and validate claim documentation to mitigate financial loss.
- Provide reporting to management and maintain accurate claims tracking systems.
- Collaborate with Accounting and Collections to resolve carrier and customer accounting issues related to claims.
Vendor Relationship Management:
- Ensure vendors are effectively managed and held accountable through performance metrics and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance of all freight-related agreements and partnerships.
- Maintain strong relationships with logistics providers and ensure continuous improvement and contract optimization.
Network Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities for transportation network optimization, cost consolidation, and service enhancement.
- Support the development and execution of long-term transportation strategies aligned with ANS’s global supply chain transformation goals.
Qualifications - Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in global transportation, logistics procurement, and capacity planning.
- At least 5 years of experience in freight payment, auditing, and freight claims management.
- In-depth knowledge of international freight markets, customs regulations, and multimodal transportation strategies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with demonstrated success in cost modeling and performance analysis.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI is a plus.
- Global mindset with the ability to operate effectively across diverse cultures and geographies.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position's expected total compensation (base salary and bonus range) $87,400.00-$111,500.00
