Title:  Corporate Communication Manager-Americas (Remote)

CommScope is looking to add a Corporate Communications Manager to join our Corporate Strategy, Brand & Communications team.


This role will report to our head of global PR and social media and can be located anywhere in the US.


Here, you will work closely with Communications and Marketing team members, business segments, and regions to develop strategic, forward-thinking communications that drive CommScope forward. Come connect your future!


CommScope Corporate Thought Leadership.

In April 2021, CommScope announced several corporate changes and implemented key components of the CommScope NEXT program. CommScope NEXT is a comprehensive program to improve business performance by focusing on 3 key drivers: growth, cost efficiency, and portfolio optimization. Leadership has committed that CommScope NEXT will deliver an annual run rate of at least $500 million and adjusted EBITDA improvement over the next 3 years, split equally between incremental growth and improved cost-efficiency. The aim is to build a customer-centric company that can offer differentiated value propositions and achieve above-market growth across our core business segments.


Given this direction, we are looking to up-level our corporate brand. We are in the midst of fine-tuning our brand vision, purpose, and promise and building revised brand messaging that is relevant for this new business we have become. Now we need to move into the new, higher aspirational territory.


We are yearning for a more complete company story that can help us showcase where we are going NEXT in our NOW MEETS NEXT tagline. We have a number of other initiatives underway that will support this shift. We have implemented an entire internal culture initiative, we have re-imagined our website home, about us/brand pages which were recently launched, and created an entire innovation video series.


We need an operational framework to create the thought leadership content to fill the void and story that is unique to us and relevant for an ever-changing industry. Your network runs on CommScope.

We want to lead the conversation around what’s next, to be relevant in the what’s next conversations, and to develop assets that will become the next relevant thought leadership platform.


The aim is to up-level CommScope’s reputation as a leader with vision in the industry and on connectivity in general; further position CommScope as a global authority on connectivity; and engage with our audiences in ways that make them care about our vision, ideas, and what we have to say about the future.


The primary role is to help drive a CommScope corporate campaign. We want to create emotional thought leadership space (brand positioning vs product technology) for CommScope with editorial-type assets that are themed aligned with our purpose. A content futurist in nature with both CommScope “authors” as well as respected others in the field/industry.


Ultimately, we want CommScope to take a position – this is the moment now but here’s a look at where we’ll be in the future.


You’ll Make an Impact By:

  • Public Relations: Create and implement public relations activities for CommScope’s businesses that improve the perception, reputation, and market positioning of the company in the Americas region. Actively develop, coordinate and create content for CommScope Corporate publicity efforts, including press releases, social media content, and media outreach and responses. Work with business leaders to customize content for regional distribution directly and through agencies.
  • Agency management: Lead the agencies to develop a regional PR communication strategy, calendarize the key investments and areas of focus to over-deliver on earned objectives.
  • Social media: Work with social media lead to creating a CommScope Corporate social media strategy and execution in the Americas region. Work with corporate communications team members and SMEs to proactively plan, develop, schedule, and support the creation of content for blogs, videos, and social posts, coordinating responses to followers, and helping the department use social media tools and strategy to improve the company’s reputation and relationships.
  • Messaging and content: Support department’s efforts to create communications content, branding, and messaging that can be used effectively with various external and internal partners, including social media channels. This will include blog posts, fact sheets, award applications, speaking submissions, press releases, videos, and ongoing writing and development of byline articles.
  • PR tools: Create and maintain various documents and tools to assist the department in carrying out an effective and elite public relations function, including corporate fact sheets, media lists, online newsroom resources, team intranet site, measurement and reporting, and more.
  • Crisis Communications: Work with the Business Continuity team on communications efforts to address crisis situations in the Americas that have the potential to negatively impact either corporate or brand reputation.
  • General communications: Utilize outstanding writing and editing skills to support the department with the preparation of various corporate communications materials.


Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • A completed Bachelor’s in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field.
  • 7+ years of related experience in corporate communications or public relations.
  • 5+ years of PR agency experience.
  • A self-starter who can effectively support CommScope's communications strategy. This includes the ability to evaluate situations quickly, process information rapidly, and convey it accurately. This person works well under pressure, is meticulous, and is capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communications ability, with highly developed journalistic writing and editing skills. Proficiency in messaging and clear articulation of messages in all media.


You will excite us if you have:

  • Experience in network management across multiple markets.
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages other than English.
  • Experience in supporting international, multi-location companies.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and networking industries.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of PR technology and social media platforms.

Anticipated salary range dependent on experience and qualifications: $80,000 - $130,000.
