General Summary: The Indirect Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring non-production goods and services, including Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies, capital equipment (Capex), and civil/construction-related materials and services. This role involves managing the full procurement cycle strategy, sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationships to ensure cost efficiency, timely delivery, and compliance.
How you will help us connect the world
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect categories (MRO, Capex, civil projects).
- Conduct market research and cost benchmarking to identify suppliers and savings opportunities.
- Manage RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes from bid solicitation to vendor selection.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve best total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Track cost-saving targets and procurement KPIs.
Category Management
- MRO: Procure maintenance and operational supplies, manage inventory, and coordinate with operations teams.
- Civil Projects: Source materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for construction projects in collaboration with project managers.
- Capital Equipment: Handle end-to-end procurement for machinery and equipment, including vendor negotiations and project participation.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Identify, onboard, and manage local and global suppliers.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct performance reviews.
- Oversee contract lifecycle drafting, execution, compliance, and renewals with legal support.
Operational & Compliance
- Process purchase orders in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve issues related to quality, delivery, pricing, and invoicing promptly.
Required Qualifications & Skills for consideration
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- Preferably 7+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably in indirect categories.
- Hands-on experience with MRO, capital equipment, and/or civil/construction sourcing.
- Proven record of cost savings and process improvements.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Ariba) and procurement best practices.
