We are looking out for a Manager Engineering and NPI to join our team in Goa. The resource will be responsible to provide technical leadership and direction for an area. Lead Process Engineering and New product Introduction team. Plan, develop, implement and monitor product processes for new and existing products.
How you will help us connect the world:
- Cross Functional Support: Provide technical expertise to Design Personnel, Group Manufacturing, Assembly Operations, and other functional areas to provide optimal value to the customer while maintaining lowest total costs. Influence product design to provide the best mix of design for manufacturability, ease of assembly and customer service.
- Project Management: Provides overall technical leadership for developing and implementing innovative processes and technologies. Initiates activity and identifies applications for new processes and technologies. Makes appropriate recommendation to management regarding scope and resource requirements of project. Once approved, manages projects with minimal support from management. Estimates required tasks and resources for manufacturing methods and establishes timeline for projects. Monitor measures of project performance and report project status to management.
- Leadership: Technical leader inside and outside the department. Provides technical training and support throughout organization. Consistently challenges status quo to ensure that department operations are technologically positioned to meet our business requirement. Takes leadership role and facilitates teams in process and quality improvement initiatives. Establishes and maintains an effective staff through performance appraisals, corrective action, salary increases/promotions, staffing, global communications and training of technical competence.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a complete mastery of all aspects in their area of responsibility. Initiate projects and identify applications outside of their functional areas that will in turn expand and fully utilize the capabilities of the functional area. Provide an objective problem-solving resource for all the downstream/upstream processes.
- Possesses the authority and/or provides recommendations that are given substantial weight to all personnel functions including recruiting, disciplining, discharging, promoting, salary actions, selection/placement of employees.
- Plans and establishes schedules and follows up performance; recommends new procedures as necessary. Prepares and controls departmental annual budget.
Required Qualifications for consideration:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with preferably 15+ years of related experience.
- Strong experience in Process Engineering.
- Broad understanding of technology within the area of expertise, product application.
- Must have experience in fiber termination process.
- Must have experience with new product introduction.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of process development experience.
- Competence in process improvement techniques such as process capability studies, DOE's, and probability & statistics.
- Knowledge of relevant design practices, manufacturing processes, and industry specifications.
