We are looking out for an Engineer, CPI to join our team in Goa. The role is to develop and implement a unified approach to the process of continuous improvement in the department with intent to deliver high quality products through lean processes and efficient valuable to high standards maintained by CommScope.
This position has organizational functions and multi-functional interactions with Internal Customers, Operations, Planning, Purchasing, Supply Base, Quality etc. to support ongoing opportunities to improve the process. The engineer will be required to provide new methodologies and approaches to be able to remove natural waste and inefficiency that exist in the Value Stream of the organization. And be responsible for Continuous Improvement of Processes within the site/Department!
This resource will facilitate changes while working in a structured matrix management!
How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
- Develops and maintains lean transformation plan for the department including value stream maps to identify key opportunities to eliminate waste and improve performance based on strategy deployment and business results.
- Collaborates with leaders to put into action Gemba walk process (Running for Daily Improvement), using and constantly improving the visual management on the shop floor and in the office areas.
- Coaches and mentors’ teams toward a continuous improvement culture that fosters daily improvement involving all team members.
- Coordinates Lean Manufacturing Activities within the location/Department including kaizen events, projects and any other activity to improve and further lean efforts and ensure execution of transformation plan.
- Supports operations and office group to establish and maintain standard work and continuous flow in all areas, including 5S and visual management.
- Drives flow, pull and material management through operations including supermarket cell design with product, material and information flow considerations in all applicable areas based on appropriate takt time.
- Drives lean thinking into the office to create enterprise level value stream management including customer interfacing and new product development areas.
- Assures open communications and involvement of employees who work in the Lean process.
- Assists Lean Assessment preparation and helps to develop improvement plan based on assessment results. Uses Lean techniques to perform process reviews and aid in establishing standardized work procedures.
- Provides lean status reports for both internal and external communications including metric based accomplishments of the transformation plan. Estimates and reports on true savings of lean efforts in areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Cash (inventory). Reports on scheduled CPI activities.
- Oversees and handles the budget associated with the projects within Department, ensuring proper return on investment on projects while delivering solutions within budget.
- Support to Creates annual strategy deployment plans with CPI Manager and Operations. Prioritizes improvement opportunities based upon Strategy arrangement and tactical planning objectives such as growth, service, safety, quality, cost, and cash.
- Provides lean training and coaching for site employees based on needs and requirements.
The Engineer - CPI is responsible for four key areas of Continuous Process Improvement related to the elements of the site / BU, is responsible for:
Lean Manufacturing: Responsible for implementing the CPI within the Business Unit. Working within Department to see scope for improvement such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S etc., providing help with training, leadership, and direct support.
- Supports the Deployment of CPI Strategy and Lean Manufacturing calendars.
- Guide and / or help with improving corporate projects, establish benchmarks and standard processes and align with the overall goals of the business of their areas of responsibility.
Six Sigma: Systematic application of Six Sigma tools and world class methodologies to reduce the process and / or product variation Within Department and consequently ensuring confidence that products and services always meet the requirements given.
- Working with peers to find opportunities for improvement tools such as Statistical Process Control, providing support through training.
Education: To train and educate Departmental Employees and where applicable, customers and suppliers to deliver tools and methodologies of Six Sigma.
- Conduct Training whenever required and Maintain records of training activities in GLC.
- Training is considered 10% in the Training Room, 20 % Mentoring and 70 % tutoring job training. The 3 phases must be supported to ensure that employees master the skills required to deliver continuous improvement and when required on a continuous basis are made.
Facilitator: to facilitate a program of Operational Excellence and Continuous process improvement
- Be responsible for facilitating the activities of the Continuous Improvement Process within the area and scope of responsibility.
- Provide timely support of the administration of the improvement areas on the original schedule.
- Find opportunities and promote change to the management team.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Bachelor curriculum as Engineering with 8 years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of basic and advanced tools such as Continuous Improvement, lean manufacturing, lean tools like Poke Yoke, SMED, Standard Work, Kanban / Pull Systems, TPM, Kaizen, Problem Solving ,5S, Visual Mismanagement, Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow / Cell Design, Hoshin Kanri, Jidoka, 3P.
- Green belt or above certification.
- Ability to train and educate all levels of the organization.
- Excellent decision-making skills and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Lead project teams across departments. Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain the proper balance between meeting business requirements.
- Knowledge of concepts of quality system and environmental corporate Specific Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Minitab Required Lean Knowledge
- Must demonstrate leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate others. Have the ability to effectively present technical information to groups verbally and through written reports.
- This position requires a high energy level, bias for action and a passion for excellence.
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Preferred.
- Hands on experience in-TQM, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, root cause analysis.
