Assistant I, Shipping Domestic

Due to continuous growth, CommScope is looking to hire a < Shipping Assistant,> to be based at our site in <Goa, India>. This role will be responsible for releasing work orders and coordination with the production team and vendors for timely production/supply of material and ensuring smooth production without any shortage of material.

 

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

3 Shifts working _ Rotation

1. Coordinate and execute  order processing, picking, packing, and shipping confirmation using SAP MM. VL10, ZTRO, VL06O

2. Utilize SAP MM module to manage and maintain shipping-related master data, such as shipping points, delivery types, shipping conditions, and transportation zones.

3. Prepare, review, and validate shipping documentation, including Lorry Receipt, packing lists, shipping labels, commercial invoices, and  ensuring compliance with regulations.

4. Optimize freight costs by evaluating carrier rates, negotiating contracts, and selecting the most cost-effective shipping methods based on shipment characteristics and delivery requirements.

5. Monitor shipment status, proactively identify and resolve any issues or delays, and communicate updates to internal teams, customers, and carriers using SAP MM tracking functionalities.

6. Coordinate with warehouse teams to facilitate efficient picking, packing, and staging of shipments, ensuring accurate inventory management and proper packaging for safe transportation.

7. Collaborate with PLANNERS teams to ensure timely availability of Stock, to support shipping operations for customer deadlines

8. Resolve shipping-related exceptions promptly, such as damaged goods, incorrect addresses, or by liaising with carriers, , and relevant internal stakeholders.

9. Generate shipping reports, performance metrics, and KPIs using SAP MM, analyzing data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.

10. Coordinate with customer service teams to address customer inquiries, provide shipment updates, resolve delivery issues, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

11. Collaborate with finance teams to reconcile shipping-related invoices, validate charges, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate billing and cost allocation. E.g microsoft

12. Stay updated with industry trends, shipping regulations, trade compliance requirements, and emerging technologies related to shipping and logistics.

13. Conduct regular audits and internal controls to ensure compliance, accuracy, and adherence to standard operating procedures in shipping processes.

14. Foster strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other external partners to ensure smooth operations and resolve any shipping-related issues.

15. Proactively plan & identify opportunities for container optimization , immediate shipping and enhance overall plant efficiency.

16. Participate in the selection and evaluation of carriers, ensuring they meet service level agreements, compliance requirements, and quality standards.

17. Provide guidance and support to other team members on shipping-related matters

18.daily basis track, follow-up for HSN & tax updation in sales order or material master prior to billing

19.individual shipment FREIGHT updation in SAP for global tracking needs after manually calulating & bifercating as per the volumes vs the actual freight

20. route updation in SAP using brf+

21.Develop container stuffing plans based on the specific requirements of the shipment, including product dimensions, weight, and stacking capabilities

22.Implement best practices for container stuffing, such as using appropriate bracing and blocking techniques, to minimize the risk of damage and ensure the stability of the cargo inside the container

 

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

 

  • Bachelor’s in related curriculum such as B. Com/B. A with minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Degree /Diploma with minimum 2+ years of experience.

  • Proficiency in SAP as it relates to time and attendance, material transactions, etc. Very good interpersonal, communication & people management skills.
