The Transportation Analyst supports the ANS Global Distribution & Transportation team by providing critical data analysis, operational support, and vendor coordination across all modes of international and domestic transportation.
Reporting to the Global Transportation Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring transportation performance aligns with ANS’s cost, service, and quality goals. The transportation analyst will support daily shipment tracking, freight audit and payment processes, claims management, and continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation Operations & Analysis:
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and service improvement areas across air, ocean, ground, and parcel modes.
- Support the execution of urgent and expedited shipments, ensuring timely coordination with carriers and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly global logistics reports for executive leadership, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Monitor carrier performance and compliance with service-level agreements using KPIs such as on-time delivery, transit time, and invoice accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Global Transportation Manager to support the logistics requirements of Tijuana, MX factory and other business-critical initiatives.
Freight Audit & Payment:
- Serve as a key support resource for global freight audit and payment processes.
- Manage freight payment transactions in US Bank’s system.
- Reconcile freight invoices and collaborate with Finance/Accounting to support month-end accruals and reporting.
- Maintain documentation and audit trails for all freight payment activities.
Freight Claims Support:
- Assist in investigating freight claims related to damage, shortages, and overcharges.
- Collect and validate claim documentation and track resolution status.
- Provide reporting on claims trends and recovery performance.
- Coordinate with Accounting and Collections to resolve claim-related financial discrepancies.
Vendor & Partner Coordination:
- Support vendor relationship management by tracking performance metrics and assisting with contract compliance monitoring.
- Act as a liaison with US Bank to ensure smooth operations and issue resolution.
- Help maintain accurate records of vendor agreements, KPIs, and service-level performance.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze transportation and logistics reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and risk mitigation.
- Assist in cross-functional projects aimed at optimizing the global transportation network.
Qualifications: Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain analytics.
- Experience with freight audit and payment systems (US Bank preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
- Global mindset and ability to work with teams across different regions and time zones.
