How You'll Help Us Connect the World
We are looking for a Distinguished Engineer to join the RUCKUS Wireless SmartZone and RUCKUS One Controller team. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for driving the architecture, design, and technical strategy of large-scale cloud and controller solutions that manage millions of RUCKUS networking devices worldwide.
You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams across cloud, controller, data, and platform domains to build scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead architecture and design of SmartZone and RUCKUS One cloud service solutions, ensuring scalability, availability, and reliability.
- Define and enforce software engineering best practices across distributed systems, microservices, and data platforms.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering leaders to translate business requirements into technical vision and long-term architecture plans.
- Mentor senior engineers and foster technical excellence across multiple engineering teams.
- Drive performance and cost optimization through efficient system design and implementation.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to keep RUCKUS solutions at the forefront of wireless and cloud innovation.
- Define and drive API design principles and governance, especially for public APIs and policy definition frameworks, ensuring consistency, extensibility, and secure integration with partner ecosystems.
- Lead AI-driven development initiatives, applying AI driven to enhance software development, reliability, performance optimization, code intelligence, and automated decision-making.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or architecture role.
- Strong programming experience in Java and Go (Golang).
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed system design.
- Hands-on experience with multiple databases including:
- SQL: SQL Server or equivalent
- NoSQL: Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis, NATS, Kafka
- Graph database experience is a strong plus
- Solid experience in designing and operating large-scale cloud service platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or private cloud).
- Proven ability to design for scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively across global teams and influencing technical direction at scale.
- Familiarity with AI-driven software development
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
- Experience with networking, wireless controllers, or telemetry systems.
- Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and DevOps toolchains.
- Background in data streaming and event-driven architectures.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects or presenting at technical conferences.
