The Manager, ANS Australia Logistics Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing logistics operations across Australia and support the greater APAC Region Logistics needs. This role ensures the seamless coordination of inbound and outbound freight, inventory accuracy, and third-party logistics (3PL) performance. Acting as the primary liaison between ANS and its logistics partners—including 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders—this position ensures operational excellence, timely delivery, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.

The successful candidate will bring a strong operational mindset, a data-driven approach to problem-solving, and the ability to lead cross-functional coordination in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

Logistics Operations Management

  • Lead day-to-day logistics operations, including inbound (ASN) coordination, outbound freight execution, and inventory movement across the ANZ region.
  • Ensure all logistics processes support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the escalation point for freight forwarder, shipping line, and domestic transport issues, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Coordinate backlog order processing, ensuring timely shipment creation, pick/pack execution, and goods issue in alignment with sales order instructions.
  • Oversee the management of stock transfer orders (STOs), export documentation, and master data accuracy.

Stakeholder & Partner Coordination

  • Act as the operational bridge between ANS and 3PL providers, ensuring service level adherence and continuous performance improvement.
  • Collaborate daily with Planning, Customer Service, Quality Control, and Returns teams to align inbound/outbound plans with actual execution.
  • Provide technical and operational support to 3PL partners to ensure optimal service delivery.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly freight tracking and logistics performance reports.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support finance with end-of-quarter revenue recognition audits and freight accruals.

Freight & Invoice Management

  • Manage freight invoice validation and support resolution of billing discrepancies.
  • Track and trace international inbound and domestic outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate airfreight quotes and expedite requests as needed.

Returns & Claims Management

  • Oversee spare parts returns and reverse logistics processes from internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate Tier II support for damaged goods evaluations and SAP quality notifications.
  • Manage the freight claims process, including investigation, documentation, and resolution of damages, shortages, and overcharges.

Inventory & Quality Control

  • Lead the cycle count process, including variance analysis, stock adjustments, and root cause investigations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of quality notifications and triage of sales orders with relevant stakeholders.
  • Take reasonable care for personal health and safety and that of others in the workplace.

 

Required qualifications for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics operations, preferably within a 3PL or distribution environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory management principles.
  • Experience with SAP and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to use logistics data for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
