Title:  Strategic Sourcing Specialist, NPI

 

 

 

 General Summary:

Based on the global and local purchasing policies and procedures, plays a role of NPI procurement to ensure materials demand to be fulfilled for  new design products with Time to Market driving and  at a most optimum cost for new product launch.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions):

 

  • Sourcing and develops new suppliers, lead Supplier Selection Process for new supplier development for new technology, new design with R&D.
  • BOM cost owner for new products and Manages BOM cost v’s target.
  • Support design team, optimizes BOM and components cost during Prototype and pre-production phase including early suppliers engagement
  • Speed to market - ensure new products are sourced within DRR, PRR deadlines, support R&D to order engineering samples,
  • Responsible for gathering RFQ/Sealed bid for new P/N, do cost analysis and  review of should be cost calculation and negotiation for new P/N.
  • Manage DFM discussions between vendor and R&D on new parts and  FA qualification for new P/N and set up quota allocation when applicable
  • ECN handling for new P/N and existing P/N at NPI stage.
  • Review cost optimization opportunities on all key components of each new models  
  • To support PDP process speed to market with the time line which defined in Scope sheet
  • Identify long lead time and potential supply risky parts list, forecast to new products, special parts with capacity and quality issue, etc. and finish handover to site procurement
  • Vendor performance review and monitor and  drive suppliers continue improvement for NPI supporting
  • Supplier strategy alignment between NPI & Procurement
  • Forster PIP generation ideal, valid initiatives entered as PIPs to the site teams
  • Comply with SOX , internal and external audits , and provide necessary information during auditing

 

  

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor degree or above, major in Commercial, Trading or engineering related.
  • Minimum five years of purchasing  and sourcing experience in manufacture industry
  • Mechanical  and/or EE,PCB, PCBA products knowledge preferred
  • Good command of  reading, spoken and written English
