Title:  Specialist, Strategic Sourcing

General Summary

Strategic Sourcing Specialist have overall responsibility for supporting the procurement manager with the execution of the contract manufacturing supply chain strategy in APAC  that are aligned with the needs of the BU and Operations teams, driving a consistent approach to Procurement that shares best practice.  Ensures that the supply base is being proactively managed in terms of performance as well as identifying risk in the supply chain and implementing mitigation actions.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the support of the development Strategies that ensure alignment to BU and Global Ops strategy from contract manufacturing point of view
  • Closely working with the cross function team from PLM, Global Planning, Engineering, Global planning, Global logistic for the new projects follow up and demand planning fulfillment  
  • Ensures processes are in place for the management of supplier performance
  • Assist in negotiations for with global suppliers (both in region and multi-national).
  • Delivering on Cost Reduction Plans and feeding the future savings funnel, rolling 12 months
  • Ensuring supplier contracts are focused on mitigating risk and reducing inventory/lead-time while managing stock liabilities with suppliers
  • Improve cash flow by extending supplier payment terms and increasing raw material inventory turns.
  • Conducts detailed cost analysis of components, process fee, cross the CMs and also with inhouse cost breakdown
  • Continuous improvement of processes and systems.
  • Ensures the all CommScope policies and procedures as they relate to this role are adhered to all times.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related curriculum required. 
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement or relevant experience is required, Multinational companies working experience and the optical telecommunications are plus
  • Good experience for ERP/SAP
  • Very Good English level for both speak and write communication
  • Good communications as a team player
  • Position requires significant travel (domestic and international). 
  • Must demonstrate capability to lead a cross functional team and project management skills.
