Title:  Engineer III, Should Cost

This position can be based in Suzhou, China or Goa, India.

You Will Make an Impact By

  1. Maintain a database of costed parts, Raw material.
  2. Update Should Cost database with market specific information such as current material cost.
  3. Optimize the Should Costing software to accurately cost components for the molding cost model.
  4. Evaluate the cycle time for molding process.
  5. Analyze the global category spend and identify savings opportunities based on the Should Cost of a part versus the current price.
  6. Develop category specific should cost models in support of NPI and Category management’s negotiations with the supply base.
  7. Support the Procurement group’s negotiations using Should Cost tools as a technical expert and join the negotiations.
  8. Work on Value Engineering ideation, proposal and implementation actions.
  9. Liaison and collaborate with the various business functions for above responsibilities.
  10. Provide the timely execution of costing requests.

Required qualifications for Consideration

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial engineering.
  2. 5+ years of Manufacturing/Process experience in the fields of Molding and Surface treatment preferred.
  3. Experience in Procurement, Materials/Purchasing or Integrated Supply Chain business processes is a plus.
  4. Very strong analytical skills coupled with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  5. Strong computer skills in MS Office tools and ERP systems.
  6. Prior familiarity with Should Costing Software and CAD is a plus
  7. English: Fluent
  8. Can work flex hours for meetings with teams in North America, Europe, and Asia.
