Title:  Engineer, Supplier Quality

Duties and Responsibilities:
Generic Responsibilities:
1.Quality Improvement : the purposeful change of a process or product to improve its dependability.
2.Quality Assurance : designed systematic preventative actions necessary to provide confidence that products and services meet given requirements all the time.
3.Quality Control : inspecting and testing efforts to maintain the integrity of a process or product’s.
4.Responsible for identifying improvement opportunities, provide support with process documentation and metrics identification.
5.Participate in collaborative cross-functional teams to deliver companywide quality solutions incorporating best practices.
6.Participate in improvement projects, establishing benchmarks and best practices and aligning with overall business goals for areas on responsibility.
7.Performs the actions necessary to implement BU and corporate requirements into the CM/suppliers’ processes and systems that ensure the establishment and maintenance of a robust quality program into and at all supplier sites for which there is responsibility, that comply with all company, local or applicable International Quality Standards, as required.
8.Performs the actions necessary to implement BU and corporate requirements into the formulation of standard operating procedures to support the Quality Management System.
9.Responsible for monitoring CM/Suppliers’ QA processes to verify that the prescribed methods are being followed.
10.Evaluate the effectiveness (Audit) of the CM/Suppliers’ quality systems to assure compliance to all corporate and local policies, as well as compliance with national and international standards and legislation.   Develops, recommends and implements changes as needed based on evaluation.
11.Oversee the duties/functions of assigned areas of responsibility necessary to assure regulatory and accreditation compliance and advises the management on these issues.
12. Compliance with testing and inspection procedures.
Specific Responsibilities:
1.QM review and Maintain in SAP.
2.Solve material quality issues timely and work with process engineer& design engineer for the specification and drawing improvement.
3.Develop inspection methodology to ensure parts fully applied to the print.
4.Carry out suppliers’ quality system & process audit and assessment and drive for effective improvement actions.
5.Setup supplier quality performance metrics and analyze performance gap between NPI and mass production and take effective actions to eliminate the gap.
6.Work with RD & supplier to implement new technology and process per CommScope’s requirement.
7.FAI/PPAP review during qualification process for new parts/new process/new tool, etc.
8.Perform supplier capability analysis and work with RD/NPI to optimize tolerance setting.
9.Work closely with RD/product quality to solve customer complaint in relation to design/reliability/manufacturing from material end.
10.Handle routine material complaints to implement CAPA.
11.Cost reduction projects engagement from quality function.


1.Major in mechanical or material engineering with bachelor degree at least.
2.Good command of written and spoken English.
3.Minimum 5 years working experience related to Supplier quality engineering, manufacture engineering of mechanical area
4.Intimate familiarity with ISO9000/TL9000/TS16949 Quality Systems.
5.Working knowledge of basic and advanced Quality tools, such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, DOE, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis(8D), Poke Yoke(Error proof), and QC 7 tools etc.
6.Metal fabrication, plastic manufacturing, hardware experience.

7.Experience with developing/documenting procedures and application of Quality Engineering methods in inspection.
8.Familiar with a wide range of reliability, environmental, and qualification programs.
9.The ability to monitor effectiveness of vendor quality programs as well as development reports and implement corrective action programs on an as needed basis.
10.Assertiveness and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
11.Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills are essential.
12.Ability to articulate, defend and negotiate Quality expectations with Suppliers.
13.Be honest, active, independent, willing to take more responsibilities, and able to work under big pressure.
14.Good application of office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and understanding/interpretation of 2D drawings.
15.Great logical analysis skills on various quality issues.
