Snr Manager, Sourcing Operations

The Sourcing Operations Manager is responsible for leading end‑to‑end sourcing, supplier management, and operational execution for a defined product line serving the APAC Broadband Business Unit. This role incorporates elements of Product Line Management (PLM), Operations/Supply Chain management, Strategic Sourcing, and Procurement — ensuring that the business can reliably and competitively supply high‑quality, fit for purpose cost‑effective manufactured products that meet customer expectations and enable the APAC Broadband BU to compete effectively across all APAC markets.
The individual will work closely with Operations, the GM& VP of APAC, Procurement, R&D and PLM to drive all aspects of the sourcing strategy of suppliers and contract manufacturers including identification, negotiations and performance management to secure products and solutions that enable the Broadband BU to compete effectively in highly competitive markets.
Fluency in both Mandarin and English is essential to effectively manage supplier relationships across the region.
The role is based in Singapore and requires frequent travel across APAC/SEA.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing Strategy & Supplier Management
- Develop and execute a sourcing strategy aligned to customer requirements, product line needs, and cost/quality targets.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers and manufacturers across APAC/SEA, with a focus on low‑cost country sourcing.
- Lead supplier negotiations including pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and service-level agreements.
- Drive supplier performance through regular business reviews, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain deep market intelligence on materials, manufacturing trends, pricing shifts, and alternative supply options.
2. Product Line Ownership & Commercial Management
- Own the product line from a sourcing and supply chain perspective, including cost structure, landed cost analysis, and budgeting.
- Understand customer needs, product features, and market trends to guide sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with Product Management on lifecycle planning, new product introduction (NPI), cost optimization, and value engineering.
- Ensure the ability to apply branding or customization requirements (e.g., logo placement) with selected manufacturers.
3. Manufacturing & Contract Manufacturing Leadership
- Oversee end‑to‑end Contract Manufacturing (CM) activities — onboarding, capacity planning, capability evaluation, and contractual performance.
- Lead all commercial and operational elements of CM relationships, from initial loading to production, delivery, and escalation management.
- Evaluate Make‑vs‑Buy scenarios to optimize cost, service, and risk.
4. Supply Chain & Operations Management
- Manage the complete supply chain for the region, ensuring predictable delivery, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation.
- Work cross‑functionally with Logistics, Operations, Engineering, and Quality to support product launches and ongoing supply.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, implementing contingency plans and diversifying supply when needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, governance, and global standards.
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as the primary interface between suppliers, internal teams, and regional stakeholders.
- Lead cross‑functional teams on sourcing programs, commercial negotiations, NPI sourcing, and operational projects.
- Communicate sourcing plans, performance updates, market intelligence, and risk assessments to leadership.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Fluent Business Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Operations in the APAC/SEA region.
- Strong hands‑on experience with manufacturing operations, supplier auditing, and technical understanding of production processes.
- Demonstrated success negotiating in highly competitive and price‑sensitive markets.
- Proven experience owning and managing product lines from a sourcing/supply chain perspective.
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain management.
- Ability to travel extensively across APAC/SEA.
- Excellent analytical, commercial, and problem‑solving skills.
- Resilience, drive, and ability to operate under high pressure.
- Strong cultural awareness and ability to build trust with regional suppliers.
Preferred:
- Experience with branding/custom manufacturing for consumer or industrial products.
- Experience managing complex BOMs or diversified product portfolios.
- General knowledge of cost modelling, should‑cost analysis, and total cost of ownership.
- Prior experience supporting new product introduction (NPI).
- SAP or similar ERP experience.
