Overall responsible for finance, tax, treasury, and local compliance matters for legal entities within the ASEAN region. Operating with minimal supervision, manages complex activities related to maintaining general ledger accounts and preparing financial statements and reports.

The role may involve ownership of specific functional areas, such as general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and related processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end general accounting close for multiple legal entities across ASEAN countries. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for relevant balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile and document all general ledger accounts in accordance with established accounting procedures. Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and ensure appropriate accounting classifications are applied.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls for the respective legal entities to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage treasury and payroll functions for each country, including payment processing and cash flow management.
  • Oversee in-country compliance activities, including coordination of external audits and preparation of corporate and indirect tax filings. Ensure full compliance with all applicable government regulations.
  • Support the review and enhancement of corporate financial accounting policies and procedures. Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes, financial reporting, and systems.
  • Lead and participate in special projects as required, such as general ledger enhancements and changes in accounting procedures or systems.

 

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Familiar with SEC, IRS, and FASB regulations and guidelines.
  • Proven ability to analyze business conditions and assess financial impacts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, and provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Power Platform tools (PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate), with experience in ERP systems and other accounting software.
