Shipping and Receiving Clerk I

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for processing in-bound and out-bound, packages and freight.  

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Perform shipping and receiving tasks.
• Pickup, sort, process, load, ship, receive, unload and deliver, packages and freight.
• Inspect items and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Utilize computers, manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required to accomplish tasks.
• Working knowledge or forklift certification. 
• Receive, sort, process and distribute all incoming packages/pallets.
• Process desktop shipping labels for outbound shipments.
• Prepare and ship all non-regulated packages received daily.

• Prepare courier packages, coordinating pick-up and delivery, confirming delivery/receipt with appropriate stakeholders, and resolving any related issues in a timely manner
• Responsible for delivering or coordinating pick up of packages. 
• Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. 
• Other duties as assigned such as room setups, building safety tours and other minor maintenance tasks.

Required Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Ability to interact with other facility personnel. 
• 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving role. 
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to present information in a clear and concise manner.
• A high degree of accuracy is required for handling sensitive equipment and proper routing of shipments.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment while managing multiple work streams and priorities.
• Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation.
• Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. The expected salary range for this position is $53,000-63,000 annually. 

The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including, medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
