Intern-Project Management

As a Project Manager Intern, you will be responsible for support, organization and leadership reviewing and deploying changes to the Data Center PDP (Product Development Process) documents. You may also have the opportunity to lead or co-lead a project. You will work closely with the PMO (Project Management Office) to deploy changes and assist with implementing best practices for all functions of our business. You will also have the opportunity to shadow and assist project managers with active, cross functional global projects or lead your own project.
The Data Center PMO is responsible for managing up to 80 projects/year. We are also responsible for all of the Strategic Programs (either revenue, cost reduction or EBITDA impact). We work cross functionally with all functions in a global organization and are also responsible for the Product Development Procedures and Process and continuous improvements.

As a Project Manager you will interact with many functional areas; R&D/Engineering, Manufacturing, New Product Introduction, Procurement, Quality, and Product Line Managers. You will work to gather requirements, collaborate to build project schedules, identify risks and corrective actions, motivate team members at the same time learning more about each function of our business.

• Are curious about how new product is developed, built and launched into the market.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and maintains the ability to complete tasks on time and perform well under time constraints.
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word.
• Have a general understanding, aptitude, and curiosity about how things are made and how can they be made better.
• Show innovation through unique ideas and propose them to the team.
• Junior or Senior standing in a BS, BA or master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business or project management from an accredited university
• Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Engineering, manufacturing, business or project management from an accredited university
As an intern in this role, you will be working within the PMO which consist of 8 team members located globally. A large group is located in Shakopee and you will have plenty of opportunities for exposure, coaching and mentorship

- Review current procedures and shadow Project Managers to observe the PDP process
- Work with a small group of members from the PMO to incorporate document changes
- Create training material on new and/or revised procedures
- Assist in creating and performing KPI reports using Power BI
- Shadow and/or assist in the management of a PDP project
Required Qualifications for Consideration
- Junior or Senior standing in a BS, BA or master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or business from an accredited university
- Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
