How You'll Help Us Connect The World:

As a member of our Venue and Campus Network's New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering team, this role provides daily support for the activities of the Prototype Development Lab. This will include coordinating preventative maintenance activities along with assembling, wiring, and debugging custom built equipment. Collaborate with CommScope Engineers and Technicians to solve product design and process problems thereby improving products, quality, cycle time and profitability. More specifically the duties would include:

  • Determining the type and frequency of the preventive maintenance required for sophisticated equipment to keep it operating at the designed level of quality and reliability. Perform the pre-defined equipment maintenance and monitors the equipment performance.
  • Organizing and maintain maintenance activity records and history utilizing a computerized maintenance system (CMMS). Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assembling wires and debugging our custom-built in-house equipment and standard OEM equipment to ensure conformance to both the machine and product specifications for cycle time, quality and up-time.
  • Establishing and maintain the spare parts' inventory of critical parts and components.
  • Work with purchasing, manufacturing, and vendors, to obtain the parts, services, and support vital to accomplish effective maintenance.
  • Collaborate effectively with our engineering team and assist in special manufacturing and project support as requested.
  • Performs measurements and collects data for golden studies, gage R&R’s, and Cpk analysis
  • Assists with the validation of the optical test and fiber bar code software, writing equipment and process work instructions
  • Collaborates with the automation team to develop processes for automated equipment


Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Our ideal candidate will have an associate degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Fluid Power technology with ten years of prior background in either of these areas - maintenance, mechanical assembly and electrical wiring of equipment, manufacturing processes and testing procedures
  • Knowledgeable in electronic, mechanical and systems with ability to comply to the standards of the Facilities Services Department. Can debug and repair equipment when it malfunctions.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting ability, understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics as well as, the required trouble shooting equipment.
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting machine manuals in order to identify particular hardware and software failures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate in a global organization and proficiency with current MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and desire towards learning and staying updated on the newest technology trends and industry standards
