Title:  Director of Corporate Development ‎

CommScope is looking to add a Director of Corporate Development to our team. This role can be based near one of our major US CommScope locations: Minneapolis, MN, Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA, Philadelphia, PA, or Charlotte, NC.


How You'll Help Us Connect the World.

Reporting into our VP Office of CTO, this is the lead position on acquisitions, joint ventures, and divesting of businesses. This position also supports integration efforts for acquisitions and will work to identify and develop new growth initiatives for the CommScope. Involvement in Corp Dev and M&A work is a pivotal responsibility of this role; however, we will look to this person to participate & support the strategic planning process for the CommScope.


You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Lead acquisitions & joint ventures, including developing M&A strategy, developing a deal pipeline, target screening, analysis, valuation, commonalities, due diligence, deal structuring, and negotiations. Successfully project lead throughout the process.
  • Identify candidates and develop investment & partnering strategies. Develop and negotiate investments, strategic alliances, and license agreements.
  • Identify and develop new growth initiatives for our core businesses.
  • Lead the divestiture process including the development of an offering memorandum, data room preparation, management presentations, negotiations, and coordinating responses to buyer questions, etc.
  • Assist in the training and guiding of the company, together with corporate due diligence team members, in the acquisition and divestiture processes
  • Participate & support the strategic planning process for corporate and the segments.
  • Work on special projects, for the executive team, board meetings, corporate-wide initiatives, portfolio analysis, SWOT analysis, etc.
  • The ability to develop a complete & detailed understanding of CommScope’s segments, business, and markets we participate in.
  • Help handle relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, and venture capital firms.


Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • A completed Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in global mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures with a throughout understanding of all facets of corporate management.
  • Previous experience in strategic planning and cross-border M&A experience.
  • Accomplished analytical skills – able to structure involved business issues, determine appropriate research and analytical techniques, identify sources of information, reconcile conflicting data and synthesize relevant findings.
  • Skillful project management skills – capable of independently leading multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously and driving them to completion while adapting to shifting priorities due to other events.
  • Outstanding communication skills - verbal and written – able to capture relevant information and optimally document and articulate findings to senior leadership.
  • Polished interpersonal skills – through direct contact, able to maintain rapport with operational, financial, and other executives throughout the corporation.


You will excite us if you have:

  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
  • Experience in a mix of telecom or technology industries.
  • Previous operations, engineering, sales, or treasury experience.
