CommScope is hiring a Director of Global Procurement ISPFI in Shakopee, MN

 

General Summary:
Responsible for ensuring that the Global Procurement strategy is aligned with the Inside Plant Fiber (ISPFI) Business Unit (BU) and Operations strategic requirements.Contributes to the planning, development, communication and implementation of the Company’s Global BU Procurement activities. Focus will be on business continuity, identifying risks in the supply chain, i.e. single or sole sourced materials with development initiatives to create mitigation, cost optimization, New Product Introduction support, and overall supply chain simplification activities. Responsibilities are considered integral to the success and profitability of the business. Continuous review and analysis of the strategy is required to accommodate changes in market dynamics. Must help formulate strategy, recommend and implement solutions and adjust according to BU demands. A deep understanding of how the supply chain contributes to market growth and revenue objectives is a critical aspect of this role.  

 

Duties & Responsibilties:

  • Establishes and drives the global Procurement strategy for $150M of supplier spend ensuring alignment with the BU, Operations and the BU financial plan.
  • Executes on key strategic programs and projects to align with the needs of the business.
  • Responsible for the Procurement aspects of New Product Introduction including supplier selection and bill of material costing with the objective of launching new products with the Right Cost and Right Supply Chain from the start of production.
  • Identification and Development of high performers within a team structure.
  • Provide input to global processes, policies and procedures to enhance the management of the BU spend.
  • Drive BU related cost reduction objectives with responsibility to deliver on the annual cost reduction plan.
  • Participates and supports Make Vs. Buy decisions and sourcing strategy within a cross functional team.
  • Emphasis on the Total Cost of Ownership approach for the complete supply chain.
  • Support the Site Procurement Teams with optimization of the supply chain for the BU.
  • Support the Procurement Operations team as they interface/direct operations of suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Understands how to build both business and product knowledge and how to use market trends to make sourcing decisions.
  • Participates in S&OP process for BU to maximize financial & service objectives.
  • Develop and Partners with Site Operations, Global Planning, Global Quality and Global Operations leadership.
  • Key member of the BU Management Team.
  • Interface with remote general management and senior executives.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in a related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or related field required.
  • 5 years of most recent direct material procurement experience
  • 5 years of experience in managing a team of procurement professionals
  • Reporting experience using MS Excel or Business Objects
  • Must have successful and progressive management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills required.
  • Must be skillful at influencing decisions and opinions, negotiating, and building consensus.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Must have strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people from all cultures.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build and motivate teams of diverse disciplines required. 
  • International travel required in this position (Upto 50% under normal circumstances)
  • ERP Experience ideally with SAP preferred
