EHS Engineer

The EHS/Facility engineer will be responsible for maintaining the Santa Ana and Pineville facility’s (shop floor, office spaces, security, utilities, etc…). The EHS/Facility engineer will develop, implement and maintains program and procedures necessary to ensure the overall environment, health, and safety performance of the unit per corporate guidelines.

 

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

 

EHS functions:

 .Maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety policies and rules.

 .Minimize workplace injury and illness through development, implementation and maintaining effective health, ergonomics and safety programs.

. Liaison for local emergency response team.

. Acting as point of contact and ownership for CMP, BIA and BC on behalf of CEX.

. Promote continuous improvement of existing health and safety programs, procedures, and tools to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

. Knowledge of the local/city/state standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to the operations and maintenance of facilities.

. Analyze EHS performance metrics, prepare reports, and make recommendations.

 .Ensure compliance to all local and corporate (CommScope) EH&S rules and regulations (audits, reporting, training and implementation of corrective actions).

. Hazardous waste management, including collection, labeling, storage and disposal.

. Provides project management leadership for EHS compliance projects.

 

Facilities functions:

.Assist, supervise and coordinate the repair of electrical and mechanical systems throughout the facility to ensure safety.

.Schedule contracted vendors to complete preventative maintenance services for various mechanical and regulatory requirements (ie. Fire inspection services).

.Ability to analyze costs of services required for repair and building maintenance.

.Creation, implementation and execution of maintenance plan for facility equipment (ie. Forklifts, Cherry picker, Air Compressor, A/C system, landscaping, janitorial)

 

Required Qualifications:

· Previous EHS/Facilities engineer experience

· Understands manufacturing best practices

· Knowledge of regulatory requirements from government agencies and organization, such as OSHA, EPA and ISO

· BS in engineering or equivalent

· CSP certified

· Engineer with strong EH&S affinity

· Spanish speaking a plus

· Structured worker

· Pragmatic and hands on

 

Open issues remaining from the departure of previous EHS engineer:

· Multiple open injury claims

· Past due with daily/weekly/monthly safety walks and internal violations resolutions

· Various open loop on facility repairs

· Past due on incident handling procedure

· Actively review and reduce the incident rate for both CA and NC

· Past due CMP/BIA/BC

· Past due corporate audit

· Past due IIPP

· Completion of requirements from AWS audit

 

The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, paid vacation (prorated based on start date), and other leave options.

 

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position's expected total compensation (base salary and commission range) is $84,000.00-$106,000.00.

 

This is an onsite role in Santa Ana, CA, requiring all 5 days in the office each week.
