General Summary

The copper assembler performs manual labor along a production line. A copper assembler must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. Their function is to ensure that all parts and products under their care are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company.

Duties & Responsibilities
|
- Use tools to make or repair parts and products.
- Follow the Copper Supervisor’s and assigned production lead’s instructions on a day-to-day basis.
- Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
- Interpret customer drawings and assemble them per customer’s specifications.
- Hand Crimping, loading connectors, shrink tubing, labeling per customer specifications on any drawing.
- Work with other members of the line or group to assemble products.
- Keep a clean and tidy workspace.
- Follow all company-wide rules and regulations to ensure your safety and the safety of your coworkers
- Identify any defective items and handle them according to established procedures.
- Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise.
- Other duties as assigned
Examples of General Tasks Related to Assembly Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide support and backup assistance to peers.
- Follow all safety rules Cable Exchange promotes.
- Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Operates any equipment needed to perform the job.
- Performs related duties as needed by supervision.

SKILLS REQUIRED
Individuals must be detail-oriented people who can multitask and is and able to understand technical information as well as product specifications.
Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including but not limited to, eye safety glasses and a clothing protection apron. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use their hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel.
The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.
