Title:  IoT Product Manager

How You'll help us to connect the world:

 

At CommScope, we ship millions of networking and multimedia products into consumer homes each year.

You will be responsible for the P&L and able to meet the strategic and financial objectives of the product line and company.

Develop an 18-month product roadmap for networking products such as gateway, routers, mesh system, or set-top box, targeted to home consumers.

Understand strategic and competitive position in the market, technology, and deliver products that are recognized as best in the industry.

Establish pricing strategy for the product line.

Actively engage with chip vendors, ODMs, and peers to understand technology advancement and cost trends.

Prioritize and balance between NPI vs. maintenance engineering efforts to meet financial goals.

Develop close relationship with MSO partners to influence and ensure timely execution of product certification and qualification as well as negotiate requirements.

Identify growth opportunities, set plans accordingly, and rally cross-functional execution to achieve growth.

Drive business development activities with technology and channel partners including contract negotiation.

Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction.

Participate in the preparation of sales collaterals and tools (giftboxes, data sheets, promotional flyers, sales summary presentations, promotional videos) for a successful handover to the marketing team.

Work closely with marketing team to ensure a successful launch of the product including product reviews, PR events, etc, and post-launch customer retention and engagement using data insights.

Maximize efficiency in a constant evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.

Monitor revenue, costs, and sell-through and initiate actions to achieve life cycle volumes and margins, and direct transition and EOL actions.

Continuous monitoring of product feedback and user reviews from channel or online sources and drive engineers/designers and customer support team to address field issues.

Play a key role in the sprint plan for feature development and roll-out and lead in weekly NPI meetings.

Be an internal specialist as well as external spokesperson and evangelist for the company on the product line’s products and technology.

Be encouraged by cross-functional team members to make hard decisions based on limited data.

Conduct routine product training to sales and channel partners.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

You have 3-5 years in product management with demonstrated product launch experience.

Market and technical knowledge of networking, specifically Wi-Fi and have proven experience as a developer/engineer (preferred).

You have experience in hardware development (preferred) and working with ODMs.

Experience with development and launching Mobile Applications and Cloud-based Services (preferred).

You have proven track record of managing and growing own product portfolio (preferred)

 

You have previous experience in the following:

 

Ability to manage and growing own P&L.

Negotiate and aligning interests from different organizations, and navigating around or working with partners to get things done.

Ability to synthesize information from various sources to form own opinion and gain support from others.

Ability to resolve problem in cross-functional situations and to form constructive teaming across the value-chain organization.

Involved in the product creation process all the way from initiation to launch, and solve the customer's problems.

You spend time keeping up with the latest trend in consumer electronics.

Experience working with both in-house and outsourced/offshore engineering team.

Bachelors degree in Engineering and Masters in Business Administration (pref)
