Job Title : Supervisor, Shift


General Summary : Ensure that production targets are met. Ensure good working culture / discipline in the workplace / security and safety of operations and workforce. 

Responsible for coordinating, monitoring and supervising the activities into shifts. Ensures that departmental goals are achieved. Provides feedback to management regarding overall individual team member performance. Responsible for motivating employees and enhancing skills to their highest potential.


Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Ensure that production targets are met.
  • Coordinates with various support functions (Operations Supervisor, Engineering, maintenance, etc.) to resolve production problems (including yield & defect reduction)
  • Lead cross functional team (Team leads, Process Technicians & Quality) to troubleshoot quality or process issues and take necessary corrective actions in shift
  • Provides feedback to Engineering and Ops on issues impacting production & equipment (road blocks and positives). 
  • Manage shift schedules and work allocation in shift. Prioritize activities to meet shift targets
  • Ensure that systems, procedures and company policies are followed
  • Assist in short-term resolution of emergency situations (e.g., injuries) or safety issues and make an independent decision on the course of corrective action
  • Manages and mentors shop-floor workers and shift leaders to optimize overall effectiveness inshifts. 
  • Ensures that employees are at work on time, actively engaged in their assigned work and conforming to established safety regulations.
  • Provides immediate performance feedback/counseling as required to resolve employee conflicts
  • Conduct Performance evaluation, suggest corrective action, training & promotional recommendations for Shift Leaders
  • Responsible for completing daily and monthly status reports pertaining to production, employee attendance & performance/conduct and process flow. 
  • Any other relevant duty as assigned by the Mgmt


Qualification : Diploma or Bachelors Degree in related curriculum such as Engineering


Experience 8 Years of Related Experience. Knowledge in manufacturing/production operations with a mix of people and machine environment preferred. Preferably with some quality work experience. Worked in supervisory position for at least 5 years


Skills Required :


Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.

  • Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Must have managed at least 50 employees
  • Must have a healthy mix of production and machine work environment experience
  • Knowledge of Lean practices is preferable.
