Title:  Director, BSA Engineering

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced professional for the position of Director, BSA Engineering in Richardson, TX.  This individual will be responsible for the functional management of the antenna design engineers and provide engineering leadership in the development and design of new base station antenna products.  The ideal candidate will be goal oriented, with a passion for results and innovation, and exhibit strong leadership, technical, and managerial skills.  The ideal candidate will possess a background that demonstrates the ability to lead a world class team of engineers, in the areas of product performance, manufacturability, cost optimization and reduction of time to market.  This individual will be a member of an engineering management team responsible for managing the development activities of global engineering group.



  • Lead an RF team responsible for designing Base Station Antenna subsystems for Macro and Small Cell applications. 
  • Provide direct leadership to team located within US while serving as a functional lead to RF teams located globally.
  • Team responsibility includes research and development of Base Station Antennas for existing 3G/4G wireless bands as well as developing beamformers for next generation 5G bands (mmwave and sub-6).
  • Serve as a technical mentor for the RF team located globally. 
  • Work with PLM, PMO, Supply Chain, NPI, Ops, Quality and other groups to take a product from inception to volume production.
  • Instill a strong culture of IP generation across all R&D locations.  Work with Intellectual Property Department to ensure inventions are adequately protected.
  • Stay abreast of competitive product to ensure our products are best in class.
  • Periodic travel to customer and trade shows to present and demonstrate new technology.


Requirements (Educational/Skill set)

  • Bachelors of Science in Electromagnetics or related field with 10+ years of direct experience.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience designing MIMO array, phased array, and/or beamforming antenna arrays based upon cross-polar elements configurations.   Must have experience working at sub-6GHz frequencies through direct involvement in 4G/5G telecom networks
  • Must have direct experience providing RF technical and managerial leadership.
  • Must have experience using simulation tools such as CST and/or HFSS.
  • Must possess firsthand knowledge of testing antennas and arrays in anechoic chambers as well as making Near-Field and Far-Field measurements to verify critical Antenna parameters such as gain, cross-pol isolation, sidelobes etc.
  • Deep hands on experience measuring PIM on Base Station Antenna arrays
  • Experience in directly interfacing with customers to understand requirements and present technical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead problem-solving teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
