R&D Product Development Design Engineer

As a Product Management R&D Engineer, you will provide Outside Plant R&D Sr management and PLM the technical support required to craft and maintain products to TL9000. This is an on-site role in our Apex, NC, facility.


How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

[In this role, you will use Digital Advantage tools for 3D modeling and analysis, working with Sr Engineers and PLM to define products and translate them into 3D solid models to deliver concepts through to final designs, delivering value creation with intellectual property,

You will work with vendors to produce prototypes and use international and domestic standards to test and evaluate products in a matrixed multi-functional team environment; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate on a global basis. The candidate will require a broad set of technical including hands-on skills and talents associated with the typical development of new products.

As a member of the Product Management team, you will closely collaborate with operations and product management sales to craft technical objects that represent R&D in front of internal customers to discuss requests and requirements for what was delivered and communicate statuses and progress to stakeholders.

  • Facilitate the creation of prototype and product samples and the evaluation of these samples to validate concepts and design.
  • Generate and maintain documentation relevant to the development process.


Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Two or more years of experience in CREO 3D CAD Modeling Design (Plastic, Solid, Metal, Drawing, Assemblies, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of plastic and metal processing techniques and design rules
