Title:  Customs Inbound Coordinator

1. Customs Clearance Management

• Prepare and submit accurate customs documentation for all inbound shipments.
• Coordinate with customs to ensure timely clearance.
• Review and validate entries to ensure alignment with internal compliance standards.

2. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

• Ensure all import activities comply with national and international trade regulations (e.g., DCA).
• Maintain a strong understanding of import licenses, permits, and restricted processes.

3. Shipment Coordination & Tracking

• Track inbound shipments from origin to final delivery, identifying bottlenecks or delays.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth logistics flow.
• Resolving customs holds, inspections, or documentation queries proactively.

4. Documentation Control

• Manage and store all import-related documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin).
• Validate that supplier documents meet customs and audit standards.
• Maintain an accurate audit trail for future customs reviews.

5. Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary contact for internal teams (procurement, logistics, finance) regarding import status.
• Communicate clearance updates and potential delays to relevant stakeholders.
• Work closely with suppliers to correct inaccurate documentation.

6. Issue Resolution

• Investigate discrepancies in import documentation or customs entries.
• Manage customs rejections, fines, and compliance issues—proposing corrective actions.
• Provide root-cause analysis for recurring import errors.

• Support continuous improvement and standardization of import processes.

7. System & Data Management

• Update ERP, TMS, or customs software systems with import data and clearance information.
• Maintain accurate SKU-level customs data (HTS codes, country of origin, material content).
• Verify electronic customs filing systems are up to date and function correctly.
