Title:  Engineer, Application Sales

This role focuses on CommScope CPE solutions covering DOCSIS and Wi-Fi initially, but will be expanded as needed to other related products and technologies.

Sales Engineering is a part of the customer facing organization within CommScope, APAC. The role can involve remote sales engineering support resources to APAC customers on CommScope products focused on Operators and consumers covering both broadband and video technologies.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Communicate the value and benefits of the CommScope product portfolio to customers in a trusted advisor capacity.
  • Formulate vision to become sales engineering specialist on all aspects of the CommScope CPE product portfolio including developing an understanding of how other teams of CommScope are involved.
  • The candidate must be experienced in working with highly technical solutions and understanding customer requirements with ability to communicate this requirement back into the product management teams
  • Establish credible relationships across all levels of customer technical staff in order to further communication of product capabilities, current needs, and future requirements between the customer and company engineering R&D teams.
  • Provide technical training through activities such as trade show demonstrations, customer product trials, interoperability and integration, product beta trials, RFx responses and defence, customer presentations, customer seminars.
  • Provide technical expertise on overall Telco Access Network system and network architectures.
  • Develop and present positioning papers, technical white papers, presentations and other technical documentation for national/international level conferences.
  • Proactively monitor the customer base and identify new customer needs and issues. Work in close cooperation with Sales, Management, Technical Services or Product Managers, as appropriate, for issues, opportunities and requirements.
  • Increase market awareness of CommScope products and solutions portfolio and capabilities through presentations and industry events

 

 

Skills required

 

  • General knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
  • Current network of contacts in the Australian telecom industry a strong advantage
  • Demonstrated knowledgeable in the video and broadband access infrastructure technologies
  • Base knowledge of Radio Frequency engineering, broadband communications preferred
  • Detailed understanding of DOCSIS device provisioning specifications and other network management protocols (SNMP).
  • Highly motivated with good presentation, verbal and written communication skills required. 
  • Good technical reporting and documentation skills (technical manuals, reports, problem descriptions, test cases etc…)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and independently and be able to meet project deadlines for delivering quality solutions on time.
  • Open to working with international teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Good knowledge of LINUX and Windows Server operating systems desirable
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software & tools
  • Willing to travel, mostly within Australia, New Zealand, and occasionally outside the greater APAC region.
