Passive Optical Network (PON)


To achieve global success, service providers are looking to next-generation passive optical network (PON) technologies to deliver 10 Gbps now and accommodate future 25G and 50G to meet the bandwidth and capacity demands and the new wave of data growth.

With the continuous growth of fiber broadband networks, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Market Development Manager for the EMEA region.

The ideal candidate will be based on site in Kessel Lo, Belgium. CommScope have sites throughout central Europe and we welcome applications from other countries. Travel throughout EMEA is required (up to 50%) and potentially some occasional visits to the USA.



How You'll Help Us Connect the World.

You will be responsible for driving market and business development efforts in EMEA to position CommScope as a leading PON solution vendor, working closely with the MSO and Telco sales teams to achieve our short- and long-term revenue goals. We will look to you to be an expert on PON technology, product, and market(s) and serve as a bridge between the teams within the category, and the marketing and sales organizations.


This role will learn and becomes proficient on CommScope PON solutions including PON Actives (FLX OLT and ONU), ServAssure Software, Fiber Cable and Connectivity portfolio, and Network Transformation Services - to develop and position end-to-end solutions.


You'll Make An Impact By

You'll pro-actively own the customer funnel of opportunities and convert them into customer wins. Teamwork is key, as you will work with sales and business unit teams to identify target customers, qualify opportunities, define priorities, and manage progress from early customer engagement to market introduction.


Travel will be needed as you will represent CommScope at trade shows, industry forums, webinars, and company events. You'll work with marketing teams to build content, and develop market messaging and positioning. Your passion will help to empower our sales teams.

Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to a changing environment and balance multiple priorities, you’ll have a proven track record of synthesizing and interpreting complex issues into solutions.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • 5+ years of related experience in technical sales/business development type roles, or a strong technical background in networking/telecoms with an appetite for sales
  • Understanding of networking technologies
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or another technical field, or equivalent gained through working experience
  • Full professional proficiency (C1/2) in English is crucial. German is highly desirable.


You Will Excite Us If You Have

  • Experience in PON, or equivalent experience in selling network technology into service providers
  • Ability to conduct market, competitor, and customer research to gain and apply insights, and articulate CommScope technical advantages and USPs.
  • Strong and engaging presentation skills; ability to present solutions to both CXO type of audience and deeper technical presentations to engineering organizations within our customers.
  • Active established network of contacts in the Service Provider market is a key advantage.
