We are looking for a Technical Molding Manager to join our Global Molding Engineering Team, this position is based in Juarez, Mexico; candidates from other locations in the country will be considered as well.

 

How You’ll Help us Connect the World

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Process Development: Design and optimize molding processes for new and existing products.
Tooling Design: Collaborate with engineering teams to review and improve mold tooling designs.
Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control plans, including PFMEA and DFMEA.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues in molding systems, tooling, and automation.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of processes, tooling acceptance, and quality objectives.
Customer Interaction: Ensure customer requirements are met and address any quality or performance issues.

Well Understanding and implementation of lean manufacturing methodology (SMED, TPM, etc.)
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills to understand and work with complex machinery and equipment used in injection molding.

Project Management: Ability to manage projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget3.

Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing process data to identify trends, solve problems, and make informed decisions.


Required Qualifications for Consideration

•    Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
•    Experience: +10 years of experience in plastic injection molding, with a strong understanding of materials science and molding technologies.
•    5 years technical management experience.
•    Proficient in English language (written and spoken)

 

Skillset:

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Leadership: Excellent leadership skills to manage and motivate a team of technicians and operators.
Communication: Effective communication skills for coordinating with different departments and stakeholders. 
Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
ISO Standards: Familiarity with ISO standards relevant to molding and manufacturing processes.
Quality Control: Experience in implementing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure product consistency and reliability.

 

Technical Skills:

Cost effective: cavitation in line with the annual volume
Focus on automation
Factory 4.0 mentality
SMED method
Proficiency in scientific molding principles 
Cycle time optimization 
Experience managing different resin types
Tooling/DFM/Tooling Preventive Maintenance
Capacity to analyze and propose tool design
MF (Mold Flow)/Hot Runner System/Cooling Systems
Experience presses (Engel, Milacron, Haitian)
Automated Systems knowledge
Material Science: Understanding of different materials used in molding, such as polymers and their properties
