Title:  Supervisor, Quality QMS

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

This position manages all activities associated with supporting and maintaining an effective and compliant Quality Management Systems including the responsibility for accuracy and integrity of the associated systems. The responsibilities of the QMS Supervisor directly affect the ability of the organization to align with handle documentation vital for ISO9001/TL9000 specific Quality Program. Updating procedures and data compiling are also required. Position will also be required to maintain these systems once in place and to help with the data reporting mandated by ISO9001/TL9000

Assist the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer, the Quality Auditor, and the Quality Department technicians in developing, maintaining, and auditing the operations, support processes, and systems that are intended to assure the quality of the product. Must be flexible in regards to daily tasks, proactive in accomplishing job duties, and making judgments with regard to process and product quality in accordance with company policies and procedures. Must conduct specific-job functions with little direct supervision

  • Coordinate the document control system via the electronic document control program, SharePoint. This control system ensures that document is built, revised, and deleted by authorized individuals and that specified documents are accessible to those who have a need for specific documents.
  • Ensure conformance of the documents of the Quality System to the CommScope corporate standards for such documents by reviewing every document that supports the Quality System and assessing whether or not that document conforms to the company standard in regard to its formatting, page layout, document layout, and in some cases, content.
  • Provide administrative support in the form of typing, editing, publishing, and distributing the controlled documents of the CommScope Quality Management System for the facility.
  • An above average knowledge and ability using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio is required.
  • This includes administrator level duties required for the full functioning of the software, i.e., coordinating with Human Resources access for new users, loading documents into the software database, data base back-ups, and the maintenance of the facility document approval routings.
  • Initiate, track, follow-through complete the review, revision, and creation efforts for all quality system-controlled documents.
  • Ensure that the related documentation is updated as needed and that the related documentation if accurately referenced during the creation, revision, and review process.
  • Handle and maintain the paper copies of procedure manuals that are accounted for in the document control system.
  • Advise partners when documentation changes are made.
  • Internal Quality Systems Auditing: The Quality System Coordinator will conduct periodic audits of the controlled documents to ensure that only the accurate documentation and versions are used. Periodically audit the SharePoint workflow system of documentation where documents are sent to the floor by the Coordinator using the SharePoint workflow system for viewing and acknowledgment.
  • Coordinate and Administer the Corrective and Preventive Action Systems:

The ability to supervise efficiency of vendor quality programs as well as development reports and implement corrective action programs on an as needed basis.

  • Records Maintenance: Maintain files for the records associated with, and generated by, the Quality Department in support of the Quality Management System. These records include, but are not limited to, the following items: records of Corrective and Preventive Action, records of document creation, changes, and deletions.
  • Support the Quality Monitoring Program, including the review of test plan, test report and ensuring the resolution of identified non-conformances.
  • Ability to lead Training group, MRB, Incoming Inspection and Customer Returns areas across departments and/or multi-functional personnel located at Bermudez plant site.
  • Experience with the development and documentation of quality systems processes and procedures.
  •  And provides ongoing mentorship and support to the employee as they complete their action plans.
  • Supervisor, Coach, mentor and own the MRB Supervisor (Quality Engineer) to establish suitable goals, action plans and time lines for MRB (Control of Nonconforming Outputs), Incoming Inspection Process and Customer Returns & Warranties.
  • EHS
  • This position/function must be responsible to understand and follow the Environment, Health and Safety Management System, its Policy, the standard and applicable procedures.
