CommScope is looking to add a Staff Quality Engineer to join our team in Bermudez Plant in Juarez Chih., Mex.

 

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

Active participation in new product development, sustaining, investigation and cost reduction projects assigned, overseeing adherence to the documented PDP procedures. Complete quality deliverables (control plan, packaged product review and retrospective review) for assigned new product development projects on a timely manner. Active involvement on pre-production runs collaborating with NPI team to identify design and process improvements. Conduct packaged product reviews for onsite new product launches.   Conduct random process audits on initial production orders of new product launches. Support the resolution of lab testing non conformances for assigned projects, using the 5 whys root cause analysis technique. Participate on D and PFMEAs for assigned projects, monitor their completeness, and use of proper ratings. Collaborate with site NPI and Operations Quality teams to identify areas to improve design for manufacturability, introduce poke yoke and other solutions to address repetitive manufacturing quality issues. Lead the resolution of design related customer or internal complaints to determine proper root cause and corrective/preventive actions. Support the Quality Monitoring Program, including the review of test plans, test reports and resolution of identified nonconformances with the involved manufacturing sites. Analyze local product/process deviations to identify repetitive issues related to the product design, and drive improvements to reduce the number of deviations.

Support special quality projects or initiatives as needed.

 

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related areas.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Quality Area within a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a good understanding of quality concepts, problem solving and process improvement techniques, root cause analysis, 8D methodology, FMEAs, control plans, SPC, CpK, DOEs, poke yoke, PPAPs, FAIRs.

 

 

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in English language (written and spoken) +80%.
  • Possess a high-energy level, strong work ethic and desire to learn.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Show innovation through unique ideas and is self-driven.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

 

You Will Excite Us If You:

  • Knowledge and experience of fiber products and connectorization process, highly preferred.
  • Experience in new product introduction and engineering changes, preferred.
  • Familiar with molding processes is a plus.
  • Familiar in Minitab, preferred.
