General Summary

Actively participate in assigned new product development, sustaining, investigation, and cost-reduction projects, ensuring adherence to documented Product Development Process (PDP) procedures. Complete all assigned Quality deliverables, including control plans, packaged product reviews, and retrospective reviews, accurately and in a timely manner.

Duties & Responsibilities
•     Actively participate in pre-production runs, collaborating with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to identify opportunities for design and process improvement.
•    Conduct packaged product reviews for new products launched at the site.
•    Perform random process audits on initial production orders for new product launches.
•    Support the resolution of laboratory testing nonconformances for assigned projects by applying structured root cause analysis methodologies, including the 5 Whys technique.
•    Participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) for assigned projects. 
•    Collaborate with site NPI and Operations Quality teams to identify opportunities to improve design for manufacturability. 
•    Introduce poka-yoke and other preventive solutions to address recurring manufacturing quality issues.
•    Lead the resolution of design-related customer complaints and internal quality issues by determining the appropriate root cause and defining effective corrective and preventive actions.
•    Support the Quality Monitoring Program, including reviewing test plans and test reports and coordinating the resolution of identified nonconformances with the manufacturing sites involved.
•    Analyze local product and process deviations to identify recurring issues related to product design and drive improvements that reduce the number of deviations.
•    Support special quality projects and initiatives, as required.

Accountability and Impact
This position provides Quality support for assigned new product development, sustaining, investigation, and cost reduction projects. The engineer works with NPI, Engineering, Operations Quality, and manufacturing sites to identify and address product and process quality issues, supporting product introduction and continued quality improvement in manufacturing.

Required Qualifications for Consideration
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related areas.
•    3-5 years’ experience in Quality Area within a manufacturing environment.
•    Must have a good understanding of quality concepts, problem solving and process improvement techniques, root cause analysis, 8D methodology, FMEAs, control plans, SPC, CPK, DOEs, poke yoke, PPAPs, FAIRs.

•    Proficient in English language (written and spoken) +80%.

You Will Excite Us If You:
•    Knowledge and experience with fiber optic products and connectorization processes, highly preferred.
•    Experience in new product introduction and engineering changes, preferred.
•    Familiarity with molding processes is a plus.
•    Familiarity with Minitab, preferred.
