Analyst, IT Ops- Storage Operations

General Summary:

 

As a Storage and Backup Administrator, you would be responsible for administering, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting issues related to storage and Backup equipment / Applications as per CommScope IT standards. You would work with other members of the infrastructure team to implement and resolve issues collectively, providing the highest level of quality as required by Business Units.

 

How you'll help us connect the world:

 

  • Extensive experience with Storage and Backup platforms (EMC, NetApp, Commvault, etc.)
  • Provide day-to-day Storage and backup device operations.
  • At least 5+ years’ experience working with NAS devices, especially Netapp equipment ( FAS, AFF and/or Cloud ONTAP).
  • Able to handle multiprotocol NAS volumes and user authentication using LDAP and AD.
  • At least 3+ years’ experience working with CommVault backups using protocols like NDMP, IntelliSnap, etc.
  • Experience using On Command System Manager, DDMC, etc, for managing Netapp and Dell Data Domain devices.
  • Experience setting up monitoring tools like AIQUM and Cloud Insights to monitor and alert any hardware/software-related issues.
  • Doing recommended security hardening on Storage and backup devices.
  • Troubleshooting/resolving SAN or network-related issues on Storage, backup and server equipment.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Server Hardware, virtualization, networking and datacenter.
  • Performing daily backups of files, folders, databases and virtual machines.
  • Performing restores of files, folders, databases, and virtual machines.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving backup issues as per customer satisfaction.
  • Performing maintenance on existing backup systems and databases.
  • Advanced storage and backup system configuration and data migration techniques.
  • Storage and backup Infrastructure upgrades, patch management
  • Troubleshoot performance issues related to the backup and recovery environment.
  • Resolve and, if needed, escalate complex incidents/problems and provide root cause analysis.
  • Providing descriptive and timely updates for all assigned incidents/problems.
  • Liaison with vendors on vendor-related incidents/problems
  • Maintain backup policies and procedures, including overseeing the appropriate retention criteria and corresponding legal holds as required

 

Additional Desirable Experiece:

 

  • Keeping up with new technologies and industry trends in Storage and Backup technologies.
  • Handling employee shift rotations and vacations.
  • Strong Communication and reporting skills.
  • Capable of developing written processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with ticket management in the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience preventing/handling Ransomware attacks.

 

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

 

  • A bachelor's degree in IT or a related field OR four years of relevant IT experience with an equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education.
  • Preferably 10+ years of storage and backup support in an enterprise environment on the following platforms.
