Position Title: Analyst, IT Operations Center

 

General Summary:

 

Monitor and maintain corporate Network and Server Systems. Implement, document, and administer network and server systems to deliver global data, voice, and application services to Company users and external customers.  Responsible for supporting our 24x7x365 IT Operations Data Center, Server, and Network environment. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

•    Proactively monitor, maintain, and administer network systems connected to Company’s computing environment. The systems include, but are not limited to routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and PBX/VOIP systems.   
•    Proactively monitor, maintain, and administer servers and application systems connected to the Company’s computing environment.  These systems and applications include, but are not limited to physical/virtual Windows servers, Linux Servers, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, SAP, Active Directory, DNS, Monitoring, Data Backup, Storage, and EDI.
•    Administer and maintain monitoring, availability, and performance tools/systems. 
•    Add and enhance monitors for various systems and applications. 
•    Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, escalation, and notification of network, server, application, and security events as assigned.  Conduct all necessary follow-up actions based on assignments, policy, and procedures.
•    Serve as a direct point of contact for most customer (internal staff, external) and service provider interaction. Includes receiving and resolving requests via phone, email, and internal ticket system, escalating alerts/issues to appropriate parties, performing site perimeter checks, shipping/receiving duties, network cabling, and rebooting servers and network devices. 
•    Take the lead in responding to operational and security issues as assigned.  Coordinate resolution efforts and prepare reports of findings.
•    Perform proactive network, server, and application services monitoring for communication, technical, and security problems.
•    As a team member, work to meet or exceed server level targets. 
•    Update and create internal documentation. 
•    Gather operational metrics and report them to Infrastructure Management.
•    Perform assigned duties as requested by CommScope’s management team.
•    Evening, overnight, and weekend, holiday and on-call shift work may be required.

 

Related Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s in related curriculum such as Information Technology with 3-5 Years of Related Experience with CCNA/ CCNP certified Monitoring: SolarwindsExpecting CCNA/ CCNP certified Monitoring: Solarwinds preferabale.


SKILLS REQUIRED:
Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills
•    Experience with Network and Server monitoring tools and technology
•    Experience in the following preferred: 
o    Network: routers, switches, firewalls, security, BGP, HSRP, DNS, IP
o    Server Administration: Windows, Unix, Linux, Active Directory
o    Monitoring: Solarwinds, Microsoft SCOM
•    Ability to work independently and in shifts.
•    Advanced certification in the following is highly desired - Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), RedHat, Microsoft (MCSE, MTA, MCTA, MCSA, or other certification relevant to the job description), VMware.
