Job Title: Analyst, IT Operations - Appl Technology

 

Work Location: Hyderabad

 

Job Summary :

 

The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems. Additional responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment, scheduling and executing the SAP transport system, design and configuration of integrations between SAP and additional systems, both internal and external optimizing and analyzing performance issues, and the design architectures of the landscape

 

You will be responsible for : 

 

  • Install, upgrade, and maintain the database and SAP application systems.

  • Assist in the planning, designing, and architecting of the database and SAP application landscape across a variety of platforms and databases.

  • Serve as a resource to IT Business Analysts, customers, and ABAP Developers in designing, configuring, and implementing an SAP system supporting business and operational needs.

  • Plan and install support packs, conduct upgrades, manage backups/recovery, system refresh, and troubleshooting, as well as conducting failover testing and validation.

  • Propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the systems.

  • Develop, manage, and test the storage, archiving backup, and recovery procedures.

  • Proactively monitor systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.

  • Monitor, analyze, identify and respond to trends in system performance and resource utilization within the SAP technology stack, work with the required teams to identify database, hardware, and network failure scenarios, determine root cause and assist in the resolution of issues.

  • Install and test new versions of the SAP application and database software.

  • Collaborate across IT groups to assist in driving solutions in support of all SAP technical operation strategies.

  • Document problems with external support personnel, communicate with developers, help desk, and other support personnel to resolve system issues.

  • Create technical operations procedural guides that effectively document all areas of the technical landscape to ensure consistent maintenance and support.

  • Prepare regular status reports and performance metrics for consolidated status reports.

  • Learn and stay current on the features and functionality of application software and databases, focusing on technology to improve performance, availability, reliability, stability    

 

Skills Required:

 

  • Bachelors/Masters degree minimum 8+ Years of experience in SAP BASIS

  • Experience with software solutions for complex business environments, such as ERP (and other enterprise applications required

  • Experience with third-party systems that interact with ERP systems

  • Must have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing

  • Interpersonal skill sufficient for frequent interaction at a middle management level – both internal and external – under conditions that will reach high levels of intensity

  • Manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities

  • Proactively generates relevant ideas for new and improved use of technology

  • Understands the impact of new projects and technical impacts on supported systems

  • A team-oriented work ethic that includes a willingness to help others

  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and share results of assigned projects with team members

  • Organizes prioritize and track incidents and support requests per SLA’s and corporate policy

  • Escalate issues based on severity and impact, including coordination with vendors and customers

  • Ability to work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations

  • Capacity to participate as a team member on multiple projects ranging from routine to highly complex and difficult; acceptable results will require initiative, broad judgment, integration of multiple fields of knowledge (technical and business), and development of problem solutions for which there is little precedent
