Title:  Director of Customer Financial Services

Due to growth and customer demand, we are currently recruiting for a Director of Customer Financial Services to join our team in Hickory, NC.




Responsible for directing the Company’s worldwide credit activities including credit and collections, contract review and administration, setting credit limits, evaluating accounts receivable for collectability and leading a global team of credit and collections professionals.   Develop and administer policies and procedures that govern these activities and manages function in such a way as to maximize sales and standard margins, minimize bad debt, and foster good customer relations and service.



  • Implement and administer corporate credit and collections policies and procedures to promote revenue and maximize cash flow while controlling potential losses from credit exposure.
  • Ensure that up-to-date, accurate and sufficient customer credit and collections information is gathered and maintained.
  • Consult with and inform senior management concerning the status of accounts receivable, forecast of cash inflows and expenses incurred in administering the credit and collections functions.
  • Develop relationships with banks and other financial resources to enable extension of credit and payment terms to international customers.
  • Audit sales contracts and price agreements to ensure compliance within company practices. Help negotiate favorable terms and conditions.  Report exceptions and counsel functional management.
  • Drive strategic improvements in sales, cash flow and DSO through the development and thoughtful application of policy and incentives such as prompt payment discounts, invoicing, late fees, credit line reviews, etc.
  • Ensure bad debt is minimized while write-offs are well documented and in compliance with policies.
  • Accountability for managing activity related to the departmental operating budget including forecasting, accruals and variance explanations.
  • Monitor, approve and establish guidelines regarding customer returns and allowances.
  • Ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources, within cross-functional areas, while maintaining an effective controls environment.
  • Oversee accounts receivable portion of asset-based lending credit facility audit.
  • Recruit, interview, select, appraise, provide training, and provide direction to the credit and collections staff.
  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business or a related field required.
  • 10 years of credit and collections related experience, including credit assessment and working and monitoring delinquent and high-risk accounts.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with customers while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Experience managing a staff.
  • Highly motivated leader with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to foster an environment of continuous improvement wit teams to achieve excellent service to both external and internal customers.
  • Ability to work with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Some travel required.
