Transportation Pricing Analyst

Due to growth and customer demand, we are recruiting for a Transportation Pricing Analyst to join our team.

General Summary:

The Transportation Pricing Analyst actively contributes to the Global Transportation function. This role will report directly to the Global Transportation Director. Position is an entry-level role designed to support the processing of rate quotes, request for pricing and transportation services coming from the Segments/BUs/Plants/Customer Service.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Role focuses on analysis, contract interpretation, securing correct rate/carrier combination based on service requirements and shipment measurements.
• Process rate quotes, request for pricing for urgent moves on existing or new lanes not found in routing guide.
• Position is an integral part of the Transportation team supporting all modes: Air, Ocean, FTL, LTL, Small Parcel.
• Must maintain 24/48 hours response time for all ‘Freight quote requests.
• Maintain log of all active and closed Freight Quote Requests.
• Will research pricing discrepancies and reporting findings.
• Follow up with vendors to get rates for lanes missing from the route guide.
• Responsible for providing alternative shipping cost requests generated by the ‘Expedite Freight Approval’ tool.
• Update database with new and revised contract rate terms for both spot and fixed term pricing.
• Must maintain detailed records of completed agreements/quotes.
• Generate recurring and ad-hoc reporting on repeat lanes, plus ability to summarize trends to update contract pricing.

Continuous Improvement:

• Seek opportunities for improvement of the Freight Quote Request process.
• Identifies opportunities to reduce number of requests.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of three (3) years pricing experience in a Transportation or Logistics industry. 
• Experience with SAP and TM preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• A critical problem solver.
• Experience summarizing results and producing reports using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
• Ability to develop interactive working relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Must be highly organized, can multi-task, has good time management skills and attention to detail.
• Global mindset and ability to work across geographies and cultures.
• Strong inter-personal skills; builds effective relationships across organizations.
