Title:  Manager, Procurement NPI

Job Overview


Procurement Managers take the Business Unit strategy at the product level and lead cross functional teams to implement efficient supply chain methods in support of those strategies as it relates to both existing products and new product introduction, with the goal of launching production of new products at optimum costs with the right supply chain. Includes understanding and executing total cost of ownership analysis, risk analysis, supplier interviews, supplier selection, supplier site audits, supplier qualification, cost negotiations, establishing contracts/non-disclosure agreements and ongoing strategic supplier development. The position will make recommendations for the use of Contract Manufacturers versus In-House manufacturing for the supply of finished products and contribute to the overall supply chain strategy.

You Will

  • Ensures the all CommScope policies and procedures as they relate to this role are adhered to all times.
  • Drive early supplier involvement with all new designs from the concept stage onwards, ensuring that supplier DFM feedback is considered in the final design.
  • Responsible for product BOM costs from Concept to final Production launch, ensuring that BOM cost targets for individual projects are achieved.
  • Meets product development timelines.
  • Collaborates with Design Engineering and global factory-based purchasing teams to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities on existing and new products.
  • Conducts detailed cost analysis of components, establishing ‘Should Cost’ models to drive to the lowest cost.
  • Generate and analyze RFQ/bid proposals.
  • Participate in vendor site visits and audits.
  • Selection of the best resource for strategic relationship with CommScope.
  • Assist in corporate negotiations for global vendor base (both in region and multi-national).
  • Price and Cost reduction with Supply Base.
  • Identifies potential areas of the product for price improvements and feeds back to Cross Functional teams, Site Procurement teams and Category managers,
  • Track product Cost reduction and implementation plans.
  • Continuous improvement of processes and systems

Who You are

  •  Preferably Bachelors in Engineer/Business or any other related technical field.
  • Preferably with minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
