Title:  Technician, Quality

Due to growth and customer demand, we are recruiting for a Quality Technician to join our team in Crowley, Texas. 




The Quality Technician is a member of a team, the role of which is to implement a unified approach to Quality in CommScope with the intent to deliver high quality products and services in a manner that meets the high standards held by CommScope.

Individual must be a champion of Quality to both internal and external clients and vendors.

Incumbent will utilize new methodologies and ways of thinking and be able to resolve the natural differences that exist in an organization.




  • The Quality Technician will have a role implementing various elements within the 3 areas of Quality:
    • Continuous Improvement: the purposeful change of a process or product to improve its dependability.
    • Quality Assurance: designed systematic preventative actions necessary to provide confidence that products and services meet given requirements.
    • Quality Control: inspecting, auditing and testing efforts to maintain the integrity of a process or products.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Actively contribute to teams in leadership or participant role using one or more methodologies (PDCA, 8D, Phillip Crosby, GRR, FMEA, Lean or Six Sigma) to achieve the objectives of the corporate Quality Policy.
    • Responsible for identifying improvement opportunities, provide support with process documentation and metrics identification.
    • Participate in collaborative cross-functional teams to deliver companywide quality solutions incorporating best practices.
    • Participate in improvement projects, establishing benchmarks and best practices and aligning with overall business goals for areas on responsibility.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Performs the actions necessary to implement BU and corporate requirements into the local processes and systems that ensure the establishment and maintenance of a robust quality program.
    • Performs the actions necessary to implement BU and corporate requirements into the formulation of standard operating procedures to support the Quality Management System.
    • Responsible for monitoring local QA processes to verify that the prescribed methods are being followed for the plant they are responsible for supporting.
  • Quality Control:
    • Evaluate the effectiveness (Audit) of the local quality systems to assure compliance to all corporate and local policies, as well as compliance with national and international standards and legislation.  Develops, recommends and implements changes as needed based on evaluation
    • Oversee the duties/functions of assigned areas of responsibility necessary to assure regulatory and accreditation compliance and advises the management on these issues.
    • Compliance with testing and inspection procedures.
  • Administration:
    • Prepare and publish timely reports describing contributions to business, using suitable formats for communication, supported by knowledge of methods for data collection, mining and analysis. 
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician and/or Quality Auditor:
    • If not certified prepare an action plan for training and achieve certified status.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt:
    • If not certified, prepare an action plan for training, complete a project and achieve certified status.
  • Control of Non-Conforming Material/Hold Administration:
    • Hold Tag and integrated Material Return Authorization, Material Review Board and Return to Vendor Systems: Plan, organize, document and execute systems in a timely, accurate manner, assuring applicable areas are in compliance with SOX.
  • People
    • Develop and maintains effective relationship with employees through effective and timely communication.
    • Maintain a level of knowledge, appropriate to job level, of internal systems to provide support to Quality staff.



  • Associates degree with two (2) plus years relevant quality experience. 
  • Familiarity with ISO9000 is a must and preferably with TL9000 Quality Systems with implementation or other applicable professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of basic and advanced Quality tools such as; TQM, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Poke Yoke, Kaizen Lean Manufacturing etc.
  • Experience with developing & documenting procedures. Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection.
  • Excellent math, verbal and written skills.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience.
  • Statistical knowledge and software experience preferred.
  • Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to articulate (verbally & in writing), defend and negotiate quality expectations with internal and external customers at all levels of management.
  • Ability to drive change where required.
  • Excellent attendance and work record.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • ASQ or  CQT or CQA or CQIA or CQI certifications preferred
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or ability to acquire a Six Sigma Green Belt certification highly desired
