Technician, Test

We are looking for a  Test Engineer to test copper products per established work instructions to evaluate product performance and collect data that provides evidence of conformance to product requirements. 

 

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

Project

    • Conduct electrical transmission, mechanical, and environmental tests of copper cabling and/or copper connectivity to assess compliance to product requirements.
    • Collect, record, analyze and report test data.
    • Follow the testing schedule and provide status in the lab request system.
    • Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to analyze and report data.
    • Assist in performing failure analysis.
    • Utilize custom computer software used with test equipment to acquire data.
    • Review and approval of test plans and reports if required.
    • Utilize the test request system to update the test status.
    • Communicate issues to the test engineer in a timely manner.

 

Department

    • Follow department safety and efficiency programs.
    • Participate in test equipment maintenance and validations if required.
    • Complete training on lab processes, procedures and test methods as required.
    • Position has growth potential with one additional technician title, each with increasing responsibilities.
    • Collaboration with current lab staff, which includes other test engineers and technicians, in a team-oriented environment.
    • Familiarity with a wide range of copper cabling and connectivity or equivalent.
    • Provides training and coaching for other technicians.
    • May lead and direct other technicians.

 

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

    • High level of competency with corporate, business unit and lab quality management system documentation.
    • Understanding of industry standards for copper cabling and connectivity and the range of lab test equipment.
    • High level of competency with fiber optic products and technical principles.

 

You Will Excite Us If You Have:

  • Test Engineering experience in a corporate environment or internship
  • Previous experience working in a lab environment
  • Solid interpersonal abilities, including excellent writing skills.
  • Skilled at planning and the ability to pay attention to details.
