Title:  Staff Controls Engineer

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

This position works as a member of our controls engineering team to design, install, program, and start up control systems, HMI’s, and reporting systems for production lines. Redesign, fix and repair control systems to improve productivity and develop preventative maintenance procedures for production controls. This includes training the maintenance personnel and supervision of vendor/installation activity, developing and coding programs for Drives, PLC’s and PC’s in order to control the various processes related to the manufacturing of cable and report meaningful metrics. This includes design/ layout of various electrical control systems, electrical system checkout and support during installation and utilize the CAD system to design and maintain system drawings. Solve problems associated with the PLC’s, drives and control systems


Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in design of control systems(preferred) or controls engineering. Candidates with Master's degree and two years of experience in control systems(preferred) design and/or controls engineering will also be considered
  • Our ideal candidate will have experience programming PLC (Allen Bradley) and working with drives
  • Able to function optimally in a team and self-directed work environment along with excellent verbal and written communications skills.


You Will Excite Us If You Have

Proficiency in running large scale projects. Experience working effectively with vendors and suppliers to resolve process and component issues. Good mechanical aptitude with knowledge of extrusion processes, Statistical Process Control methodologies and Design of Experiments for process optimization.
