How You’ll Help Us Connect the World

As an Information Security Intern, you will support security operations and engineering activities as part of the Security Operations Center (SOC). You will work closely with the SOC, Security Engineering and Architecture, and other IT teams to gain hands‑on experience with security tooling, assist with automating workflows, tuning alerts and detections, and improving incident response capabilities under the guidance of experienced security professionals. This role will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

You Will Make an Impact By

  • Assist with responding to and analyzing security incidents
  • Enhancing and automating existing processes and workflows to promote operational efficiency
  • Helping to reduce organizational risk by supporting programs such as vulnerability management, threat hunting, threat intelligence, and email security

Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s (upcoming sophomores, juniors & seniors) or master’s degree in information technology with an emphasis on information security from an accredited university
  • Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Exposure to or foundational understanding of security tools such as SIEM, EDR, Network IDS/IPS, SSE, etc. (academic, lab, or internship experience acceptable)
  • Knowledge of how operating systems work and are configured
  • Have intermediate knowledge of networking technology and basic network protocols
  • Can write basic to intermediate scripts in Python, PowerShell, or shell scripting to support automation and analysis
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship

  • Possess knowledge of security query languages such as KQL, CQL, etc.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong initiative; a self-starter with analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and flexible to changing priorities
